Try Unum, they're the biggies in the States I think. Bstach makes a good point about insurance companies being more open...there's a 'right' price a for everything.
Without a car it's hard to get to the primo places. I took the train down from Paris and if you just go walking up in the woods above town there's a ton of bouldering with circuits, don't know what it's called but it was cool...
Have truck, ropes etc. Was thinking something along the lines of W. Ridge Rexford, SW Butt Slesse, NE Butt or N Face Lion..harder stuff maybe Yak or Pup's Butt..would be happy with a day out in Squish. Drop me a line..
I'm not sure about the ride down, you'd probably be ok. Watch the time though, the chairlift stops running pretty early (like 2-3pm). I learned that one the hard way....enjoy!
I thought that'd be the story. I guess I can always have a look for myself on the way to the NE buttress. I like that area, too bad it's not a stellar 5 star line. Oh well, if my aunty had balls then she'd be my uncle
Sounds alright in the Fairley guide but I haven't really found any info on the route. Worth doing? I'm looking for some shorter rock climbs to round out the season..
Was interested in doing one of the following routes:
Harvey's Pup
Crown Mtn
Yak Peak
Habrich
Probably Harvey or Habrich is the one I'd be most interested in. I have car, ropes etc. PM me if you're interested, could meet for a Thur or Fri to plan it out.
Cheers
Ryan
Cool, I was looking to climb that at some point and it sounds reasonable car to car. When you say one twin rope you mean like a 100m long rope that you use as a double?
Cheers
Ryan
Hmm, Mclane told no lies there...toiling up that slope in 30 degree heat & humidity was very character building. The BC equivalent of the Bataan death march..we didn't even get to climb the next day cause the other guys were knackered! (not me of course, fresh as a daisy )
