No, you posted a question while expressing a very rigid viewpoint, and got responses from people who strongly felt otherwise and attempted to tell you why. Just because few agree with your view doesn't make it a bad topic. Even if you don't change your mind, hopefully you have learned some things and broadened your perspective. In time you may even change your view.

If there is a pandemic of some sort, those infected will likely be forcibly removed from society by the government (i.e. quarantined) for the common benefit of all. It sounds draconian but would you be opposed to this measure? But once again- no one is FORCED to take it. The real issue should be, why wouldn't you want your kids to have it? The "my kids (or other chaste people) won't be/aren't at risk excuse isn't holding water, because it's wishful thinking and naive, and at best, far less than a certainty.

Sweet, where DID you get that Rhino, Boner? It's so utilitarian, it, like, works with ALL of your "jokes". Yeah, you see, a few weeks back, kevbone learned how to link and post pictures. Now he has a stock of about 6 or 8 photos that work for everything. Sometimes he doesn't even need to post text, because they are soooo funny even the 30th time around, and even if they are a total non-sequiter and have no context whatsoever. Streamlined. Even "Tub Girl" was more entertaining!

This is kinda like that movie with Tom Cruise- forget the name- where he's head of that agency with the 3 psychics who foresee crimes, and feed it into a computer- so they can arrest the people before they commit the crime. And then he gets named as someone who is going to commit a murder so they try to arrest him, but he flees. And so he spends the whole movie trying to stop it from happening...and ends up committing the murder exactly as it was foreseen- or I can't remember, maybe he chooses not to at the end? Whatever it was a stinker, but reminds me anyway.

Any more than I cannot prove this false, can you prove this to be true? You are stating it as fact. Some things, yes. Maybe man, even. But beyond that possibility, why does the existence of a creator necessarily dictate HOW we are SUPPOSED to be living our lives? "Free will" again seems to drive humans to do nefarious things to other humans. Most of all, it's often used for control. The theories of organized religion are quite obviously grounded in controlling how others think and behave. Is it just at all possible that the organized religions of humans are all nothing more than cultural-based suppositions that have nothing in common with our origin? The development of these belief systems was not something that happened mysteriously- they are evolution in action, really.

Interesting....So isn't a common argument against the existence of God that he does not interevene in Genocides, Natural Disasters and the like - Despite having the power (omnipotence) to do such? Perhaps even veiling his existence such that a person would need explore and question his existence - thereby stimulating inquisitiveness???? Sounds a lot like a good parent to me. By the way, I am not arguing against the existence of God. That's not proveable. I don't know if God exists. I am however quite convinced that the assertions of organized religions are by and large based in fantasy and superstition, however. And your point is correct- rather than telling kids what God is, I'd want to encourage my children (if I had any) to enquire into to find out for themselves what is true, what makes sense. But if I just hand them a Bible and tell them to memorize it because it's the truth and everything else is false and if they don't follow it they will burn in hell and be rejected by their creator, that's not stimulating any inquisitiveness, it's encouraging conformity and fear.
