Hey! Thanks for the beer luge! That ice block rawked! For all you nerds to read and argue about this weekend: Ice Screw Testing Results

The Doctor agrees with this guy. And his protagonist askwfjkw_jutstands. The Doctor would also like to say that there should be no roads in Yosemite Valley, or "The Ditch" or whatever Mr. Ubercooldwarf is calling it this week.

AMERICA! FUCK YEAH!

More evidence that lefties are Marxists in (a thinly-veiled) disguise. There should only be only party on the ballot, and one party member in office at every level of government, ne pravda li tovarish? Actually, I think we should have multiple parties with a runoff system so that non-Dem, non-Rep parties (like the Green, Independent, Socialist, Communist, Libertarian, whatever) parties actually have a chance and a vote for one of them actually means something.

The first google search result is precious. Sort of like the first google search result for "failure". Goodbye fucker!!!

Download "Hijack This" and run it. Post your log file with a description of your problem on http://forums.techguy.org/ Many expert computer folks there. They will guide you. One of your RAM sticks could be bad, even though it says you have 512MB. I would recommend getting new, and more, RAM. PCs are super cheap these days. Maybe it's time for a whole new machine? Burn copies of your important files to CDs. Do not trust a single hard drive with stuff like pictures, important word docs, etc.

I like the fuck-the-cynics-go-4-it attitude (especially since I was one of the cynics). Nice work! Did you take any screws with you? -
RC.com article on autoblocks As long as you keep the autoblock cord pretty loose on the rope, it shouldn't generate much friction+heat. Definitely check the cord periodically (after every rappel wouldn't be too much) for abrasion+melting. I would recommend not relying on the autoblock cord 100% to hold you. If you need to stop while rappelling to clean gear, mess with ropes, etc., take the time to wrap the brake hand end of the rope around your thigh a few times. That and your autoblock will insure that you aren't going to go anywhere. Another link (that contains even more links) with info about autoblocks

The Powerline/Karate Krack wall is almost as good as the classic "King Swing". You can set it up by climbing Cin Slab and walking around. 70m rope.

I'd love to, but I'll be busy not climbing the non-existant ice on the NF of Hood instead. This early season non-existant ice is DA BOMB!

Rack Question - add more BD C4s? (on sale at REI)
Dr_Flush_Amazing replied to baxawax's topic in The Gear Critic
That's great advice.... for me to poop on. For a basic rack you should get one cam each from blue Metolius size to #3 camalot. You should be able to climb most routes with that. If you can only get one or two cams at a time, I would recommend filling in the smaller sizes on your rack before getting a #3 camalot and certainly before doubling up on sizes you already have. Be wary of of any advice provided by an REI employee in the climbing section. It is most likely wrong - as it was in this case. After a while climbing with the rack described above, you will figure out which size cracks you like to climb and that will help determine which cams you buy next. -
I personally dislike Montrail shoes, but for $25, they might be worth a try. MONTRAIL CRUISERS Only sizes 34-37 left. Ladies! Don't say the doctor never gave ya nothin'. Add something for $5.05 to your order, use google checkout and get $10 off your order of $30 or more. Two pairs of new rock shoes for $40?

West Face is awesome. Stellar 10+ thin headwall crack. -
Please define this ridiculous term. Bonus points if you can find it in a physics or engineering textbook.
