I'm releasing a climbing guide with route names that are religous and all my drawings are done on dry erase boards for the book.....your poaching my idea

There are too many variables which humans can't control.....we can only take measures to be ready for the unthinkable......we can't control it though....this is sad....my good thoughts go out to the families and loved ones

Nolanr....we were under the cliffs after you...probably around 4. They probably didn't see you as you went under them....maybe they were stiching it together at that point. They definately would of thrown it down at you if they spotted you....we were the best targets for there prank.The actual dummy looked pretty real I must say. He was wearing a baseball cap that never fell off his head....amazing.

I belive they just point the gun in any direction.......even if your on-coming....and clock your speed. I've been pulled over that way several times. It seems as if the radar "beam" (?) would be a fixed distance from the gun to the car and it could add or subtract the difference between the two....even if the cop is moving....he "always" knows your speed. Send it in not guilty!! 200$......yikes.....where you going 45 in a 25?

I did that 2 yrs. ago........and when we came back down from the lake to our bikes ..that were stashed by the road......hornet nests sprung to life from our handle bars as we picked up the bikes......it sucked.....but it was worth it to be up on constance and take the ride down

I took 2 friends from out of town on a scramble under the northeast face of pilchuck yesterday. When we where directly below the lookout cabin I looked up to see a body tumbling down the cliffs.........then.....I noticed that it was springing off the cliffs like a basketball.....wait....it's a stuffed dummy. There were about 7 or 8 teens screaming and yelling as it went down. They didn't have us fooled.....but most likely pissed at that point. Turns out they had a rope tied to it in order to pull it back up for there "funny" prank. It got stuck and they proceeded to yell at us, demanding we up-climb and free the dummy.........they then saw the "bird" . After that one of them started to down-climb the cliff in order to free it. I thought we were going to become members of the rescue....but he backed off.This was funny b/c I was warning them to watch out for frat boyz throwing rocks down off the summit as we traversed beneath it. Past that we saw no humans as we headed off towards the "poor manz enchanments"...

I stopped carrying a stove for climbs where its not needed. It seems as if smoked salmon, apples and cheese and a small loaf of bread or pita do the trick. I like buying those essential pre-made burritos for lunch. They will keep for 2 days in your pack. Obviously this won't work if your out for a long time or need a stove for melting. I just hate dealing with the thing if I don't have to. Warm food is all over this planet....its good to go without sometimes.

Double on the DeC.....big sandy trailhead. The cirque is well worth the trip.... the 8 miles go by easy.

Enjoy your time on the mountain......I'm sure you know your limits. Don't take people to seriously on this site who try and discourage you. They are fools. The more hikes you take...the better off you are going into the mountains

I was up there not long ago.......nothing to hard. The ridge is pretty straightforword as I remember. There were a couple gullies on the east of chair or a buttress on the south to gain the summit.
