  2. I'm going to name my kid "Patriot"
  3. Not a bad idea to say "this is a material that behaves differently than others, here's why." They sit right next to the regular runners. But yes, there should be some user responsibility. Interesting that people are trying to shed weight with skinny runners. If that's what's preventing your send, well I guess you're climbing hard. I use a few myself, knowing they won't last forever and will melt easily. The test could be repeated in a controlled setting. I may try a few older ones to check it out with a dynam. My guess is Mammut is on top of this stuff. Que the rockclimbing.com elaborate contraptions for attaching two slings together...
  4. Definitely agree.
  5. Spectra/Dyneema has a high tensile MBS but low MP and is subject to mechanical fatigue. This is not new information. If this is not common knowledge that is a little frightening, I will agree.
  6. WTF it's not notable when a product does what it is intended to do. It's rated to 22kN. What's it supposed to do?

  10. It's a damn shame karate crack is going to get so neglected. I hear some pigeons have already started roosting in there undisturbed cause no one knows about it anymore. And with good reason, it being tucked away out of view and everything.
  11. I like skiing as much as the next guy but you guys need to chill out. There's at least a solid month of very good rock climbing before it's time to ski again. Also, if you don't like the weather where you are, move.
  12. come on folks, the sups' traverse has priority over these obscure things. The bolts on the squaw are also a little rickity.
  13. ggk posts to this site with a computer built entirely in poland, apparently.
  14. yes, I believe it has, as has moons of pluto so they don't share first bolts anymore
  15. I seem to remember some crap bolts on the rap off of marsupial traverse (whatever that last upper formation is called, after you do that knife edge traverse down to it). Thanks for putting in the work.
  16. cbs your girlfriend is gonna be pissed you posted her photo on here!!!
  17. those last two look like they are as high as giraffes on a dirigible.
  18. Nothing like finishing off a tough day of bolting with a tall cold glass of water.
  19. the things people won't let you forget. sad. welcome back lambone. Actually it was Glacier Peak, a way more technical and committing summit. Or did he get "rescued" off of Baker too? And were there SAR guys hiking up and camping next to him on that one?
  20. I'd just dump a spot of white gas in his cigarette pack.
  21. I bet Dru still has to pay off for a number of screws this year.
  22. I thought it sucked, because it sucked. The tunnel scene with the soldiers was particularly boring.
  23. yes, that movie sucked.
