  1. Thanks Gary! Yea, I was kinda surprised by that, but whatever. Such is life. Just expect to see an adjusted version next year...
  2. Thanks for the thoughts folks. I didnt consider the toprope scenario I guess and I like the history argument. The route shall stay as is.
  3. Is that your GF? she should get in on the "hotties of CC" calender! Do we get a seperate TR of your desert trip too?
  4. I just recently hopped on Karate Crack at smith and had a ton of fun, right up to the end of the crack. The downclimb to the anchors in the cave kinda detracts from an otherwise very aesthetic crack. I wanted to get input from the rest of the community about enlisting CorvallisClimb to go and help rebolt the anchors so they are at the end of the hand traverse but before the downclimb into the cave. Does anyone have a thought on why it was bolted in such an awkward place to begin with? I dont have the guide in front of me but I would certainly get the FA's permission and jump through all the necessary hoops before doing this. Thoughts?
  5. route name? give us a little more info than the obvious "Smith"
  6. what school in OR?
  7. I got up there twice last year. The hike blows but the summit ramp is a skier's/snowboarder's dream! The climbing is non technical but steep enough so bring something to arrest falls with. Avoid the long slog and climb it when the road to devils lake TH is plowed. hking from bachelor is hellacious. oh, and pay attention on descent especially when you get into the trees. it is very easy to get in the wrong gully and end up miles off from where you wanted to be. when you are climbing notice where the trail enters the plateau so you can exit the same place on the way out.
  8. Seriously! I love seeing old guys ripping up the slopes during ski season too. I always have to make the comment that "I wanna be like that when I am 60" to whoever is closest to me. to all those who dont let old age get them down!

    aid routes?

East face of the monkey is a challenging line if you are up for some spicy nut placements here and there. Plus, you get to see how insane sonny trotter is for freeing that route!
  15. I am going to sasquatch fest in a few weeks and was wondering about the legality of camping in that area. I have seen folks camping just across the road from the feathers and was wondering about there or any other reccomended camp spots.
  16. Kev, did you find the 10a on tigerstripe to be about a 33 meter route? When I climbed it on a friends rope he ran out of rope lowering me at about the second to last bolt. Just wondering if his rope was short or if the climb was long.
  17. Ohhhhhh Yeaaaaaa
  18. I am just going to fuel the debate and give them a thumbs up. Granted, they really F-ed things up, but their product is great(when it holds together). I am totally willing to climb on the ones I have still.

  21. Yea, I knew thats what you are supposed to usually do but something you said before I began led me to believe you were goin gto just aid the bolts and then free the rest. Whatever. I got it now.
