  17. What an all around talented guy. Love it, and wish he could be making more.
  18. Self rescue is a very important thing to know. much of the info will help make you a more efficient climber too. If you dont want to pay for a class, there are books on the subject but firsthand instruction is a best bet.

  21. I second crmlla, they might work for a day but definitely not for extended use. Unless you are going to be tromping around in water or slush, wear proper wool or synth.

    New Newbie

You will, in time, realize that cascade choss is not near the quality of the sierra granite. You will learn the meaning of "Epic" quickly climbing here.
  23. bring a shovel and use the back of it for a stove rest. All the winter stuff is, for the most part, heavy as shite. A major challenge is keeping your pack light. being able to cut things from the pack (safely) can save you a lot of backache. Try towing a sled too. Learn how to dig a snow cave too. That can be very helpful.
  24. I second that. My boss said he wanted someone new who didnt know a thing about the industry so he didnt have to "untrain" any bad habits.
  25. Baking with the good stuff included, or not.
