hmm... oh well... sounded like you were saying that builders just build and buyer just buy - as tho it was thier 'functions' whatev, my bad. yes, wiser...natural...rational...

No... still no. You see, this company did all of the development of this project before any of its consumers dropped a dime. Sure, it occurred in a market context that makes it look as if it is circular... but it isn't. Capital->development->payoff is the pattern, but there is absolutely nothing that says the pattern must be a closed loop. you've turned both the consumer and the developer into total mindless idiots. they are both rational...
  3. the rainforests are being chopped for soy...more than for mcdonalds. or so i've heard. i havne't been there

right...i agree..it is predictions and history. also, i'd agree that it is borrowed money. again, you nailed it on the "...and do more paving..." cuz people paid them. if people stop paying, they stop paving. right, the homebuyer is not out there with the tools paving - duh.

so the selling of the paving doesn't pay for the paving?? huh?? they wouldn't pave unless there was a history of people buying the paving.

  10. that's why it is called excess. if it was the right amount, there wouldn't be excess.
  11. oops... s'posed to state the obvious: i'm trying hard to look like i'm working
  12. i'd rather be working than trying hard to look like i'm working
  13. it is cleche, but you can also say that plenty of innocent people get killed in cars, climbing, boating, watching tv...etc etc... we don't eliminate those activities. instead we continue to try and improve the systems and be vigilant to what is going on with the systems - adding safety measures and checks. the same should be done with cap punishment. we can't get lazy with it and must keep looking to improve the system - which doesn't necesserily mean abolshing the system
  14. the argument that cap punishment is wrong because innocent people get executed... is bunk. get rid of cap punishment and i you can bet even more innocent people will be killed. whether it be from guilty people mistakenly being parolled and killing outsiders or by those same guilty folks that don't get parolled and kill some wrongfully jailed innocent folk. i've heard quotes from studies that show how mnay innocent people are saved for every execution. i'd have to search for that, but i'm busy working.
  15. Were you packing up at the WA Pass overlook lot on Saturday afternoon? Small pickup truck? nope... grey sedan at mi post 165... two bikes on top
  16. saturday morning packed up for some WA Pass alpine... sat in the mi 165 pullout and looked at mtn... decided we'd rather ride our new bikes.... drove down to mazama and rode back up to the pass... then back down the pass...FAST!!! ate ice cream in winthrop ...then cragged at fun rock...FUN! drove home... slept all day yesterday, then worked on a jigsaw puzzle. :rawk:
  17. rewriting your quote: "more than half (or nearly) wants prez to NOT face impeachment..." of course you don't... you like to stick around like-minded thinkers. or as you might put it - diverse visit other parts of the country d00d.
  18. too late...they already did. the majority of people don't want impeachment proceedings
  19. don't dare try and spin bush's poll numberz
  20. and every time i see it mentioned i think of bacon!! mmmmm....bacon....
  21. don't know... i've never climbed there. i'm not arguing to stop the cleaning. i just wonder what it is that makes the purists ok with the cleaning. (it has been answered, to an extent)
  22. i agree... i think rock climbing in general does not harm the overal picture of nature. it would seem tho, that the purists here that don't ever want to damage the rock would also want to keep even loose rocks where they are. either risk it or climb somewhere else. the argument is made that if you can't climb it safely without bolting, you shouldn't climb it. can the same be said about trundling? maybe the argument is about skill. loose rock isn't as much of a skill thing as a bolted/notbolted face. so trundle to make it safe and don't bolt to keep it bold. hmmmm...but if that is the case then the bolting argument is a chestbeat fest anyway idunno... i'm no purist and i'm no first ascenter. more interested in peoples theories and ideas edited to add: i do like trundling as much as the next guy
