Yep, were getting hosed out here. And in many areas, its the only option, unless you want to get even harder by Quest. Worst customer service Ive ever dealt with.

Congrats Oly on the 5000 Your a little more than 1/6 of the man that Dru is

I dont have a land line either, dont need one. I use my cell phone mostly, but my gf needs the pseudo-landline for conference calls and the fax for business as well. Obviously, the cable/DSL internet connection is of vital importance for spray purposes, but Id like to get away from Comcast- there's got to be a better deal out there. Neither do I need the cable TV cause I dont own a TV. So am I hearing that a traditional landline is required for "DSL" service? I guess Im a little ignorant as far as this goes.

RIP Sam. You're going to a much warmer place

Ill be moving soon and would like to get away from Comcast, and have no plans of getting mixed up with quest either. Another cable/DSL provider and this Vonage sounds like a good deal that would allow me to have a fax line as well. Oh and I was also wondering if have figured out how to use this technology?

So what are the DSL/cable options over in this area Trogdor? I was under the impression that Comcast had the market cornered, so for the last year, Ive been getting .

They say no annual contracts, so what's the committment?

Ooops. Your right, Master Oly. Im usually a little more observant than that. Well cool then.

It looks like the only 206 area code coverage that Vonage has is on Bainbridge. Does anyone know anything different? I would think that Seattle proper would be hooked up.

Similar, in some aspects to the USFS trail crew, I was on an Interagency Hotshot Crew for five fire seasons. Working in tight quarters with 19 other like-minded people. Working 14 days straight, 12-hour days, 16 average, then two days off at home...repeat for five months or so. Make a pretty good wage with about 1000hrs of overtime in that five month period, with no time to spend it. Then get 6-7 months off, paid by unemployment (for a hotshot crew = $500+/wk). Spend that time off travelling the world. Just about the time you run out of funds, its time to go back to work. Wouldnt trade those fire seasons/off seasons for anything. Pretty hard on the body though, so not many folks can do it forever.

You mean, they dont sell Alpine gear? You are correct. I forgot that some people still Alpine

Alright. Rc.coms laughing graemlins are fucking gay. Leave that shit to the pansies, please and thank you.

Oregon Mountain Community would be my recommendation. I havent been there for a while, but they used to have a good selection and knowledgeable staff. Perhaps someone who actually lives in pdx could confirm or rule this one out?

I used to do wildland firefighting during the fire season and would pretty much get a tuff case of the shit all over my junk on an anual basis. We used to burn through the vile weed all the time and fortunately never had a systemic reaction. Ive heard horror stories of people getting it mixed up in their kindling and buringing in their campfire, only to have their alveoli and bronchioles seeping with pus a few days later, with intubation and aggressive corticosteroid therapy as the lifesaving treatment of choice. On the other hand, Ive heard tossing a salad of the shit is a sure fire way to establish life-long immunity.

Yeah, thats what I was afraid of. Version should be lifting soon with freezing levels coming down to 3-2000 by Saturday with ample precip forcasted. We'll see what actually happens, though. Hopefully things will shape up soon after. Thanks for the update

Nice work. You managed to successfully utilize both the term Nuts and Ball whilst referring to this captivating rc.com thread.

You probably get this alot, Chaps, but how do you feel about being the Fluff Buddy. I somehow missed all of your previous responses to this question, but Im sure you've developed an extraordinarily witty response by now. Lets hear it. As a side, I saw your video clip that the Commander was kind enough to post, are you back already? Were they able to extract your abdominal organs from your neck and get everything back in order? The wonders of modern medicine....
