What are you working on labor day weekend?
larrythellama replied to Peter_Puget's topic in Climber's Board
down here in these parts the weather looks fabulous. but since we are jobless sack i think we will just hang out and swim and bbq and then go climbing after the crowds have all gone back to their cubicles. -
fossil is a fun place to climb beside the obvious drawbacks. tho after you have done the few travelled routes there is much adventure potential. personally i dig the ambiance much better then that of exit 38 and the obnoxious road noise and crowds that it holds. some entertaing bouldering below the road that goes up to the wall. and also lotsa ticks!! there is a good guide put out by yoder and crew. prolly only available at backpackers in tacoma. pm lucky as he is/was a driving force behind that place at one time or another.

"They don't want scientific investigation," he charges, "because they're afraid it will prove their patriarchal stories aren't historical." And, in fact, current scholarhip is not especially congenial to Old Testament literalists. There is, essentially, no evidence for the existance of Abraham and other patriarchs, and-despite more than a century of intensive study of Pharoic Egypt-only the barest of wisps of support for the Exodus, the central event in Jewish theology. There are accounts of of Egyptian raids into Palesrine that brought back captives, presumably as slaves, and a dispatch from a border guard in the 12th century B.C., reporting that two people has escaped from Eygot into the Sinai. On the basis of what has been found so far, "there was no Exodus, at least not the hundreds of thousands of people making a miraculous escape across the desert,: Dever says. -William Dever, proffesor emeritus at the U of A. this was taken from Newsweek 8/30/04 so why are there so many made up stories in the name of a glorious god? yet these people who follow this docterine so closely use this compassionate god to further their agendas, killing children, women and men. does a compasionate god believe that one interpetation is correct? are not all jesus based religions spawned from one god? why is that christain/jew right is the only way? there is a section of the article stating that the Orothodox Jews disavow the exploration of their graves in an effory to keep down on truth that they have no more right to the holy land then any other people. this all ties into where our country is now. we use god to exercise our presumed right to call a place ours. we use this god to destroy culture and rape the wealth of the area for our benefit. where does this stop?

Nice one Chris. How about some beta for salami ledge!?!? -
If one is to do the entire nort ridge why wouldnt they come in from mtneers crk? much faster and then you dont have to deal with the snow. you would need to set up a car shuttle to the tenaway or you could descend the nw(?) face/buttress...ask crackbolter he did it that way.

I've heard horror stories of people getting dragged/slammed/flown in to buildings, highways, rocks, etc... Yikes!

dear , i can hold whatever opinions i want to. i do not hate people only the way the guise their actions by using god. life in africa is different then life in christain europe and therefore approached differently. i just find it so laughable that people so much stock in fairy tails and then expect everyone to buy into those same stories. keep on truckin ole boy!

l-worth has the most multi pitch sport routes. i really can think of the names tho...most of the routes might have some gear placements, but as of recent the "new" "developers" in lworth have just bolted everything to make it safer for the children. index has a few on the upper walls tho the tend to be quite stout. mt erie has a few too. and there are a few in mazama: insperation route is good for starters then the there is the infamous infinite bliss route on mt garfield. and i quite using the reverso as it makes one complacement and does not offer as a good belay then an atc type device.

I just wanted to bring this back to the top and remind people: DO NOT LET ADOPT A CRAG RUIN YOUR FAVORITE PLACE TO CLIMB! they need to have some sort of polling to where they can find out from the people who actually climb at a given crag to what they think is needed to make it better with that and communication with the land manager things could work out. until then do not let adopt a crag ruin the ambiance anymore then they already have at most crags.
