  1. Hendershot: I'm just another jaded fucknut posting on an internet BB.
  2. gas prices have risen a dollar in the last year. the price has certainly taken an $.18 spike at some point. .18/$4 doesn't amount to shit. the tax is not the problem, and not much "relief" how about a "exercise your fat ass" holiday instead? yeah, I know, it will not go over well.
  3. the onanist, true to form, posts a thread for himself.
  4. Yeah, getting high in the backcountry... great idea.
  5. Of course infrastructure has been a very prominent part of the campaign and each candidate has spent huge amounts of their time on the campaign trail discussing this issue.
  6. Looks like the "free market" is operating exactly as it should and only as it can in this case. your ilk would use the parks as a toxic nuclear dump or mass grave for enemies of the state.
  7. "Public Parks & Recreation -- C- Many of our nation's public parks, beaches and recreational harbors are falling into a state of disrepair. Much of the initial construction of roads, bridges, utility systems, shore protection structures and beaches was done more than 50 years ago. These facilities are anchors for tourism and economic development and often provide the public's only access to the country's cultural, historic and natural resources. The National Park Service estimates a maintenance backlog of $6.1 billion for their facilities. Additionally, there is great need for maintenance, replacement and construction of new infrastructure in our nation's state and municipal park systems."
  8. Those damn "greens". See, that's the problem w/ America, it's those "greens". They caused the mortgage crisis, and now they're fucking w/ Paradise. As for me, I like my "greens" lightly cooked so that they still taste good but digest well. I also like a little balsamic vinegar and salt on them. Yumm! This isn't spray, but it is fun. let's hope your "access" to some crag, route, climb is cut off in the very near future.
  9. Nothing beats an alpine high - and it's 100% due to naturally occurring compounds!
  10. parking has been bad, and now it's gonna be worse. Sounds like progress. Oh yeah,
  11. 8 pieces in 6 feet? over 70 feet that's 90 pieces of pro. He must have a huge rack!!
  12. first off, this isn't spray. MMMKAY? Secondly, the fact is parking is more restricted now, and I see no plans to restore what has been lost by another building. I'm not "new" to the scene. I've been visiting Paradise since 1992, and see access even more restricted. Conspiracy? There are actually groups trying to close access roads, in case you were not aware. They tried to block restoration of the Mtn. Loop Hwy - how many years did that wash out take to fix? There are other roads/washouts/repairs etc. Gee, when will they fix the Suiattle river road, do you think? Some "greens" would like it to never be fixed.
  13. Regarding concerns about altitude? Diamox.
  14. Can you deny that parking at Paradise is more limited now, and will stay this way?
  15. or maybe camp on the snowfield away from muir a few hundred feet?
  16. Unfortunately you may be right. Parking is already limited enough at paradise. If this is permanent it sucks ass. And it makes me want to demand services from the park (open up the West Side Road like in the old days, for example) if you want my sympathy and support for (under)funding.
  17. speaking of ugly cats...

How many windshirts in your quiver is a moderate amount? Today's climbers are better than you because they have more windshirts. I sent an email to Bill Belcourt at BD about this very matter. I'm thinking about buying a wind shirt. Any recommendations?
  20. the only problem is that required clothing to use the gym includes shorts over polypro, gaiters and a helmut with your name duct-taped to the front.
  21. also... any evidence of recent slides? the avy forecast was pretty grim this w/e below 7000, hence I avoided this climb... and regret it now.
  22. I'm thinking about doing this route... how did you "avoid the nastiness below"? Would love to avoid the class 4 scrambling on moss-covered rocks I have seen in other TRs...
