Thanks for the info Matt/Dave .... I'll keep it in mind for future, but it's starting to look like I might be going to the Crystal backcountry this weekend.

Oh please. The general theme/message of my post was that, when it comes to dating and relationships, RULES IN GENERAL ARE BULLSHIT. All of this stuff is gonna depend on numerous factors, specific to the individual situation/date/relationship. Out of all the above, the only absolute I believe in is the second half of my response to item 3. And if you weren't so jumpy tonight, you may have actually noticed the gender-neutrality of my response to item 3. (There's plenty of chicks out there who'd concur on the three-strikes-yer-out rule).

crazy t, do you know about this website ? -
Any guy who believes that shit is a sucker. Any chick who believes it is probably a golddigger who ain't worth your time, much less yer money. (Naturally, both of these convictions will have exceptions, but them's my gut reactions...) That's so fuckin cliche. I don't think that type of thing can ever be that cut & dry. It all depends how long you've known the other person, and what type of events the date is to consist of, and other factors. Now that does sounds like a good general rule o' thumb to me... I mean, the minimum number of dates should be flexible (again, depending on various factors). But if on the 3rd date, you're ready to get naked, and the other party needs "more time" .... it most likely means that they reeeaally just DON'T like sex very much, or maybe just have a lot of hangups with it. So why waste any more time with them?

Actually one thing I was going to say is to stay AWAY from the cat tracks.... just cause they tend to attract newbie skiers/boarders. And they're so narrow you don't want to clog them up for too long, whether you're going uphill or downhill. I once saw a guy skiing up the upper portion of Lucky Shot at Crystal. if I was a patroller I woulda told him to go somewhere else.
-
Oly, that's priceless. he got "ski" in about 15 but couldn't get "avocado".

I like skiing uphill at resorts sometimes. Ditto to all the above, esp. staying to sides of runs. And also.... when I have to occasionally traverse across a big wide run cause it's too steep, I'll stop and stand still when there's a big group of skiers coming downhill. I've always figured it'd make it much easier for them to go around you. Remember, most of them have NEVER seen someone ski uphill so it's probably confusing as hell... probably makes them more likely to collide into you or someone else. What's more, I wonder if the universal rule of "Yield to skiers downhill of you" doesn't apply if the "skier downhill of you" is actually going against the flow. (or well, it probably still applies, but wouldn't hold up as well in court). Have fun.

I know, a lot of people say that. But I gotta ask: is that hate a cause ... or a symptom ..... of the general comtempt for the whole holiday? One reason I've never hated Christmas music... when I was a kid, the most common Christmas music albums we listened to were: 1) Motown Christmas -- featuring Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, Diana Ross, and others. 2) Mele Kalikimaka -- some Hawaiian band or bands, doing Xmas tunes. 3) John Denver with the Muppets doing Xmas. So I wasn't much exposed too much to the classic oh-so-whitey suburban accents of the Christmas Carols you hear crooned in stores.

Classic anectode re. Madame deGaulle (as taken from Snopes.com... which didn't have an official ruling on it). When Charles deGaulle decided to retire from public life, the American ambassador and his wife threw a gala dinner party in his honor. At the dinner table the Ambassador's wife was talking with Madame de Gaulle. "Your husband has been such a prominent public figure, such a presence on the French and International scene for so many years! How quiet retirement will seem in comparison. What are you most looking forward to in these retirement years?" "A penis," replied Madame de Gaulle. A huge hush fell over the table. Everyone heard her answer . . . and no one knew what to say next. Finally, Le Grand Charles leaned over to his wife and said, "Ma cherie, I believe zee Americans pronounce zat word 'appiness.'"

For a lot of women, no matter how much money they make, they'd reeaally rather be with a guy who makes even more than them. I think there's a certain stigma that goes with being with a man who makes less. So ladies with cashola might go after a less-well-off guy, and vice-versa... but usually just for a casual kinda thing. I'm currently in a long-term, yet rather casual, relationship with a hot MILFie chica who's 10 years older than me and ..... probably earns about twice as much as me. She's a doc. And NO, she's not my sugar-momma; we split most stuff 50/50. But if it were a more super-long-term relationship, you can bet I'd be wanting her to pay for more that just 50%...
