how I use a non-stock avatar? and what is the maximum avatar size?

I heard all about the artist live/work lofts on NWPR the other day. It's still going on, and sounds awesome. Plus, vertical world is looking into converting the old smokestack into some kind of climbing tower thingy.

I know that people frown on not using official climbing stuff for bolts, but I've had some real success putting 4 inch sections of stainless steel allthread into sandstone with west system epoxy. I used fixe and metolius hangars, though. West system epoxy rules cause its relatively inexpensive, easy to acquire (any marine supply store), and easy to work with. It comes in two containers with little pumps on top, and one full press from each container provides the proper mix ratio. One thing to considder, though, is that you will probably need to fly to this foreign country, and you may not be allowed to take epoxy on the plane, as it is a flammable liquid.

im not much of an ice climber, but I've got a friend who is. He bought a pair of leashless tools and was afraid of dropping them, so he attatched long accessory cord tethers to them and himself, just so he couldn't drop them. After a few seasons and no drops, he quit using the tethers.

hi. I live in capitol hill and would like to try to hook up with someone else from this area to try to get a ride to the sausagefest slideshow. About six weeks ago I was coming home wasted from a party and decided to climb the outside of my apartment building. Luckily, it was raining and I didn't get very high (~ 4 feet) before I fell. I landed on my feet and kind of rolled backwards. I put my left hand out behind me to catch myself as I toppled over and bent my wrist back really really hard. It hurt a lot, so I promptly went inside and passed out. When I woke up the next morning, my wrist really hurt and my palm was cut up and bloody. I went into my roommate's room "Dude, my wrist hurts... Do you know what happened to it?" She explained to me about the climbing and the falling and I pretended to remember the incident. This wasn't the only time that I bent back my wrist like this, either. One time I fell campusing on the underside of some stairs, and another time I sucked at snowboarding. The snowboarding injury left me with a big purple bruise on the back of my wrist, just caused by repeated falling and bending back. I went to the doctor after the first two injuries, but not after this one (just switched jobs, no insurance yet). The point is, it's six+ weeks later now and it still hurts. I am still unable to climb. My full open-hand crimp works ok, but thats it. palming a sloper is absolutely out of the question. I'll get insurance in another few weeks, is it worth going to see a doctor about a two month old injury? thanks for any insight nalo

ummm what is that thing? And if it was used for climbing, how do we know it wasn't used with a removable leash? I'm not convinced.

my uncle is a structural engineer and went into the pentagon after the crash to determine if it was safe enough to send rescuers in. I've talked to him, he saw the wreckage first hand, he saw the black box weeks before it was reported to have been found, I believe it was a boeing 757

I've been sport climbing for a few years now, have gotten some trad rock experience... how do I break through the h20 barrier? I guess I could just go buy $1000 in gear, but I think I'd probably end up killing myself that way. What's the right way to make the transition? thanks
