  4. just got a copy of Selkirks North from MEC. They have 5 copies...well 4 now. :-)
  5. nicely done. way to go! as for the yahoos...don't offer advice unless people ask
  6. so Prezelj led all the remaining pitches after House lost his shell? maybe I can do the same next time I am out climbing with someone...
  7. rate it: hard, pretty hard, and pretty damn hard don't rate anything that's not hard
  8. I buy two ropes. One 10mm to 10.5mm non-dry for rock climbing and one skinny for glacier or easy alpine routes. I will not climb with someone who carries a 11mm(or 10mm) rope into the alpine and use it on glacier(stupid people do that)...unless we are doing some major aid route. If you can only get one rope, I would get the thinnest single rope that's dry; could be expensive though!
  9. how do you people know these quotes???
  10. Crazy Euros
  11. Pics as in do you have any good photos to share? Nice TR.
  12. who? do you know what system is/are affected?
  13. Nice tr, cool photos! how hard is that problem? doesn't look too bad?
  14. I find the Mountaineering model to be way too thick...maybe that's why they didn't dry as fast. as for the smell... sorry...but it could be just you...I don't have problem with them unless no washing for 4 or more days.
  15. hum...there's got to be some good rock around there... perhaps another expedition... or maybe wait until fall or early winter to do some ice climbing.
  16. Nice trip report...glad you guys and gals had a good time in superb weather. I went to Squishy on Sunday with a friend and tried to find a climb on the back side of the Chief. According to the guide, it should take "45 to 1 hr". Well, it took us 7 hours to find the bloody crag! By the time we got there, it was too late to do it. All I have to say is that Kevin McLane's description on "How to get there" SUCKS! Oh yeah, we had a great time.
  17. this is probably the best time of the year to go to Skaha. not too hot in the day and poison ivy still not out yet.
  18. thanks!
  19. someone probably had a discussion on this website about different sheath construction already...but I couldn't find anything similiar. Does anyone know the different types of sheath construction? what are the advantages and disadvantages? thanks
