  1. aus·pice ( P ) Pronunciation Key (ôsps) n. pl. aus·pi·ces (ôsp-sz, -sz) also auspices Protection or support; patronage. 1. A sign indicative of future prospects; an omen: Auspices for the venture seemed favorable. 2. Observation of and divination from the actions of birds. Nice shots; what a beautiful day!
  2. Old age is a terrible price to pay for maturity.
  3. I live in Index, and even though I am not there everyday, I am there many days. I'll be happy to be the weatherman for you if you need someone to take a quick look out the window.
  4. I did, RumR is now on the loose.
  5. I don't think that eagle thingy is a politician. I could be wrong though. edited after I realized someone smart already listed this. duh.
  6. Okeedokee, Sad but true,I just never, ever go down the valley after about noon on Sunday any more. But if you have to: You can indeed go down Reiter Road. Take a right at the stop sign before SR2 and follow May Creek Road around behind Gold Bar to hit SR2 at Mike the Barber's From here to Startup you are really and truly fucked as there is no alternative bridge across the Wallace River. Entering Startup you can take a right for a circuitous detour that brings you out on the Basin Road at the Saw Shop. From Sultan your choices are two-fold. Left at the first light takes you south across the river thence west to come out on 203 just south of the Lewis Street bridge in Monroe. Right at the second light takes you past the golf course to come out in Monroe at the first light. Woodinville/Duvall road is often a better choice than 522, but all choices are frequently hell. If things are truly grim Jack's Pass is a pretty alternative from Sky to Index. Now, the price you pay: Everybody puhleez drive like slowly, sanely, and safely on such of these alternatives that take you through residential neighborhoods especially through Index. Cars come an absolute maximum of fifth here in Tiny Town, after kids, pedestrians, bikes, and dogs, and we very much intend to keep it that way. And don't tell anyone else; it's a secret
  7. Thank goodness you are accustomed to failing.
  8. Powering the home "appliances" with a V8 now? Can you say desensitized Not as quickly as I can say, "Are you in yet?" But you've heard that one before. Rosie and her sisters never say that! That's because you have their mouths full

  12. Thar ya go with that durn science again ya libural. ah shucks all you liberals can drive the small cars. Darwin in action. Funny, I drive a truck. Actually, I have two of them: one to drive and one I just work on and enter in shows. I cannot understand how your world is so cleanly cut into Republicans, Democrats, and idiots who don't vote. Obviously, I am the idiot. But you, my friend, are a piece of work--you got it all figured out.

  14. Okay, just one more dork post and that's it. I am wondering if anyone is interested in the following project--a super simple site design. PM me and let me know how much cash and how much time. Gimme a few links to stuff you've done. Rough outline of the site... Opening page - Description of the service and a login area. Already registered visitors can logon and go to the list of vendors in their area and print out coupons. If the visitor isn't a "member" yet, they can enter their zip code into a from and see a list of participating vendors in their area. Registration page - We would look to collect: Name, City, Zip, Email (Optional - Street address, Phone number, Type of project they are working on, and when they will be completing the project). The Zip code will be used to determine the list of Vendors that is presented to the visitor. Vendor List Page - A page that will list participating vendors in the area. These will be grouped by product category (Flooring, Lumber, Plumbing, etc.) and depending on the zip code the visitor entered with will determine the list of vendors displayed. Vendor Detail Page - A page describing the services of the vendor, store hours, contact info/map and links to printable coupons from the vendor. Coupon Print Out - Only registered visitors will be able to print out coupons. If a visitor isn't a registered user, when they click on the coupon link from the Vendor page, they will first be taken to the registration page, and once registration is completed they will be able to print the coupon. Backend - The admin section should allow for the adding of vendors to the system. Uploading PDF coupons for printing. Editing of vendor information. The ability to produce activity reports for vendors (How many people visited their info page, printed their coupons, etc.) This bid should just cover the development costs, I will handle the pretty pictures part. I know this is just a very rough outline, but all the client is looking for at this time is a rough estimate of cost. Once they get an idea for how much this is going to cost, they will either shelve the project for a while or move forward. When they move forward, we will sit down for a real project planning meeting to iron out all the details of the site, and then would look for a final bid after that meeting. I could need the bid by Friday at the latest. Thanks guys.
  15. Our forte = climber mathmatics.
  16. "I did the twenty-three-hour Nose route to the top of El Capitan in eighteen hours and twenty-three minutes, I can get over this."
  17. No. Anyone else not climb it? I didn't. That's the type of climbing I do best.
  18. [quote I'm guessing you mean sort of like Lynn Hill who freed the Nose because her small fingers allowed her to send the great roof? I'm small(light) with big feet so slabbing has always been easier, lighter weight with an average size rubber contact patch is advantageous. Hey, I never thought of that. The reason Lynn Hill is such an outstanding climber is b/c she is small. Who knew?
  19. I live in Ballard, a haven for Danes. I can get almost anything in one of the many Danish shops around here--including Turkisk Peber!!!! I will be in Portland either this weekend or next. Wondering if there is a nerd out there I can ask a couple of questions of. We have a bunch of one-off "Crapplications" each on one of about a million servers. I want to talk to someone who uses VMware/Vmotion across an ESX with duel core server. I want to ask about about emulation layers, transitioning, etc etc. Also about Citrix if you have used them for their end-to-end architecture. Thanks nerds. PM me if you wanna have your brain picked. Payment: unlimited
