  1. This area is directly affected by the Index-Galena road washout. Currently, access to Wild Sky is a really big problem that doesn't seem to get mentioned.

    I fondeld my gear

I sincerely love this pic. I do.
  3. And, they can never send you the information that they can't give you. They always refere you (even when they *know* you work in IT) to the home page of the company HR site. Thanks. And congratulations on learning how to use the web. It must be right up there with your other lofty achievements like learning how to zip up your pants without getting your dick caught.
  4. What really pisses me off about that is that the first work I did in HR was repurposing SPDs (the things explaining benes). To include info and legal background stuff, I had to research all that crap. Now I know a lot about benefits. So I ask specific questions and they can't answer them. Ever. Here is a benefit and HR jackoff doesn't need: a Paycheck.
  5. I think you left off making long lists. just kidding, just kidding.
  6. Mine too. Genius.
  7. Because doing anything with the HR dept is like getting a five fingered prostate exam.
  8. I worked in HR for a couple of years. Let me clarify that: I worked in the IT dept within HR for a couple of years. It was something like residing in the fourth ring of purgatory. What do regular HR people do? I don't fucking know. How can they judge other people's skills? They can't. YOu know why, because to get a job in HR you need to be somewhere in the skill range of being able to tie your own shoe laces and somehow managing to not choke on your own drool.

Erasing a tape player is much easier than erasing every copy of an email. It's there somewhere.
  10. One of my favorite quotes from her was something like, "If I stopped to face every barking dog, I'd never get anywhere". Love that woman!
  11. Isn't it strange how each person's body is just different enough to translate to a huge variation in performance? I've always been amazed by that.
  12. I say this without bragging: I am a good swimmer. I was just born with the ability I guess and just got absorbed by it. I won state and competed on the Junior Olympic team within two years of starting to seriously compete. I don't know why it's like that--especially b/c I have a really slow kick. And then I try to run and I look like a fucking penguin. It is embarrassing.
  13. My hero.

WTF? The White House doesn't back up it's computers every night? I find that hard to believe. Maybe I just missed the obligatory "we back up to tape even though tapesucks.com" in the article?
  15. Working out together would be fun--there are lots of pools around here. I was once a pretty serious swimmer--was going to pay my way through college til I got into a car accident. But it is still my strong suit and the only reason I can complete a tri. I pass everyone in the water, then they all pass me at the running part. I am usually crawling for both those events though...
  16. Most people you talk to also don't have that background, so it is often a slow, careful conversation.
  17. Good point. And Mr. Bell was smart to put a few bucks in his case to start. I always stuff a couple bucks in my thong to show people the way.
  18. Fly Fishing (currents are a good workout) Yoga (woohoo bendy girl) Weighlifting (but I been slacking this year) Triathlons (helps motivate me to work out--gives me a goal) Skiing & Boarding (Cuz they're fun) I'm too tired to do much of anything else these days. But sports are such a fun way to spend time with friends or take some time to oneself!
  19. makes me cringe.
  20. Yeah but you attributed it to me even. I am touched.
  21. Not me. That's high-time for ho-ing.
  22. I wonder how big that subgroup might be. People are often surprised that I listen to classical, being a metalhead and all. I always have to explain that Classical music is a close cousin to metal, especially to black metal (what I mostly listen to and a subclass of symphonic metal). So I wonder how many other types of music are heavily influenced by Classical and folks just don't know it? I'll tell you one thing though, if they had someone like Perttu Kivilaakso playing in that government building, people would have stopped in their tracks.
  23. Wrong. Descendents of Satan and Eve. Pay attention, bishes. Just in case someone doesn't get the humor: the faith says that the Covenenant between God and Abraham was the beginning of the line. Thanks Arch. Also a poorly constructed tie in to the Idaho thread and the vitriol spewed by my pig fucking racist neighbors (OMG, I called racists pig fuckers, I'm a bigot too!), America's Promise Ministries. Also, I'm stealing one of your downthread quotes for my new sig, in a perfect world every one of my posts would have it flashing in neon all the way around it, I'll settle for the sig line. kthnxbye. Wow, I got quoted.
  24. "The president must acknowledge that his conduct has compromised the integrity and effectiveness of the World Bank Group and has destroyed the staff's trust in his leadership," the association said Thursday. "He must act honorably and resign." How is what he did that much different than the good ole boys club? He just cashed in on the fact that he can get sex out of the new good ole boys.
