The overwhelming majority of the community which the AF represents is accepting of the route. That's why it still exists. That's why it hasn't been chopped. You 3 and your opinion represent a very very small majority of the community. That's okay... we don't have to agree. But chopping the route is forcing your opinion on the rest of us. Which isn't okay.

Then lets go climbing. You can even pick the route 503.758.5772 I climb. A lot.

Sharing opinions can great as long as you understand others might not see things the same way as you. Chopping a route or threatening to chop a route or calling for the deed to be done is forcing your opinion on me. Forcing your opinion on others is disrespectful. Respect my opinion by leaving my route alone no matter how (fill in the blank) you might think it is as I respect yours even though I disagree with it. The FS has much much much more important things to think about like a shrinking budget then some climb near wilderness. Even if they tried to ban climbers from climbing do you honestly think they have the numbers to enforce it? Exactly. Using big fancy emotional charged words like "abortion" only make you sound like Bill OReilly

Be warned... any approach to the girth besides climbing the ice cliff itself and writing a TR about it will only result in one being skinned alive and burned at the stake on this here poleclimbers.com :laf: Thanks for the pics... looks like she still has a few weeks to go especially with this weeks weather pattern... any pics of the climbing on the ice cliff ridge (I believe Beckey calls it Ice Cliff Arete)?

Good tr guys... a few thoughts on the rematch. The traverse is much much much more dangerous/stupid/unprotectable that time of year... that whole traverse is cascade dinner plates skull The bowling alley is 4th class at most. You shouldn't need ice screws/rock pro/etc etc to protect it... protecting it will mean a rope which as you climb will result in much much more rock fall as the rope will contact and knock off choss on your belayer... skull Because of this free soloing is much safer in this situation. Basically spring is the ideal time to do N sister. And if you aren't comfortable soloing 4th class you should go solo some other 4th class stuff (parts of mt thielsen, matterhorn, washington, etc) and then go back for the rematch. Good luck!
