I would think I-90 to 97 south and intercept 84 just past the dalles would be faster than coming down I5 to PDX. Mapquest will be almost exact as with the hour change to mtn time it comes out about right (as the mapquest estimate assumes you drive the speedlimit ).

Any putz who can't climb 5.4 and I don't care if it's dry, wet, sandy, snowy whatever needs to spend more time mastering body position and natural climbing movement in a TR situation before getting on the sharp end... single pitch or multi. 5.4 should not be hard. Bolt a 5.4 finish to a 4th class route... why stop there? Let's blast it and put in a wheel chair ramp!

How about beginners get their game dialed on single pitch and then move to multipitch? Plenty of easy stuff in this state... practically all the "selected" routes at WA pass are easy 5.8...

Josh Ritter will be playing shows in Seattle on June 3rd and 4th and Portland June 6th. You can get tickets online or at the door (if you're willing to chance it not selling out). If you’re a six feet under on HBO junkie Josh performs the song during the end credits in episode 32 “Making Love Work”. Supposedly Josh is considered folk music… or at least that is most commonly where you will find his CDs. I honestly think he sounds like a young Dylan (more so on the golden age of radio album). But that is neither here nor there… the kid is talented.
