  1. that you sound like you are from Colorado
  2. Steve will be at Patagonia tonight in PDX... you should show up and tell him that.
  3. What it was meant to represent is back up what you say you are going to do. Additionally (and the main point of the equation) is don't over talk a route or give any more discussion to something you climbed then the climb merits. I believe Blitz's comments were aimed at particular FAs that were sprayed about way more than the route actually deserved in mags, etc as the climbers were trying to appease sponsors among other things. Yeah mathematically if fails but its more meant as a simple one liner response that has semi morphed into the tag line for the brotherhood. Blitz makes a great point IMO.
  4. Let's hear them... smoke free please
  5. You guys rock it for regular updates
  6. We are all talking about Wednesday right? FYI I can climb tonight but am not planning on it unless someone calls me: 503.758.5772 Wednesday: I will roll in between 4 and 5... bring a rope if you have one. Not sure where we will be as the # of people attending will dictate where we end up. Look for a little grey Ford and I should be near by. Plan on definitely Wednesday though.
  7. So Knottygirl, powderhound and me so far... yeah? Anybody else?
  8. What about the ice fields north faces? Buried or in?
  9. Nothing! That is what I use...
  10. Sawtooths Update: Finger 1st pitch is still wet/snowy/ice... should be good to go by July. Elephant's Perch/Warbonnet/all that other stuff accessed via Redfish Lake: east - south facing routes are in and ready to go however the river crossing right now is spicy (dangerous) as the log is washed out and the river is up... plan on getting wet. No one has been in this year though 2 kids are headed in this weekend... should have an update by next week. Bottom line: hit the sawtooths on the way back. If you truly want to enjoy the routes get them when they are in... no need to force it. And afternoon buildup is a common occurrence out there... alpine starts are in your best interests. PM or call me you have other questions or need a topo.

See if you can get a few dates with Chaps... I hear he is a real heart breaker... should stoke the "self validation climbing motivation" fire And if the routes are hard enough you are forced to focus only on the climbing and not what the letter said. Cheaper than booze too!

Come to think of it I believe it doesn't even start out with "dear" Why? To list all the things I am not. Duh!

  18. The wrinkled forehead, the closest large solid object to hang on to clutched, the wide balanced stance... classic "fuck alpine climbing... I'm staying in the gym". Nice pics d00d!
  19. Check your private messages Katie
  20. Well, fortunately AWD is better for 99% of the real world driving scenarios out there than 4WD. My subbie has AWD with a driver controlled locking center-diff. 99%? Quote your sources... what are you defining as "real world driving scenarios"? Curious...
  21. PM or call me if you can climb Tuesday Wednesday works too unless someone sells me some Steve House tickets John 503.758.5772
