  1. Too bad you didn't just print up a bunch. That shit would be gold on ebay. Out of print, hard to find. Controversy! Banned from publication!
  2. OK...I meant to do that.
  3. Hey smithisheaven, I wasn't able to make to any of the clinics, and was only at the slide show and BBQ, but I didn't see a lot of bad attitude. I saw at lot of very positive and friendly people there, especially the people organizing the event. From my perspective, anytime you have a group people that don't know each other, there is going to be posturing or cliques of people who happen to know each other...that is too bad because there are a lot of cool people to climb, and the best way to meet them is to just be friendly and outgoing. People who pack an attitude usually just lack self-confidence (ok, there are a few exceptions), and it is their loss that they aren't friendly. You're also going to have one or two that has a few to many drinks, as noted above. I did meet some cool local people (local to the Leavenworth area), and from what I saw, it was a very positive event. Anyway, you're lucky to live in such a awesome place. You should seriously considering changing your screenname though.
  4. While I missed out on Layton's clinics, I made it to the 'fest, and was out there at the table for the Washington Climbers Coalition. I also did the short slideshow right before the "Tommy and Beth Show". Thanks to Feathered Friends and the other sponsors for putting the event on, and for their active support of the Washington Climber Coalition and the other grassroots efforts started by people that are working on to preserve access for climbers and help protect the climbing areas that we know and love.
  5. I'm still skeptical. When I was 19, I was taking 20+ hours of course credits, and TAing at the same time. My only sibling took his own life. I didn't take time off. I didn't ask for extensions or other special arrangements. I dealt with it and used my willpower to continue with my studies as if it hadn't have happened. I see now that I could have prostituted myself and my circumstances to bilk a free climb of Everest. Gary...step away from the computer. Seriously. A terrible situation is not the same as a medical disorder. Sorry about your brother.
  6. Also, when I was 20, I think I got dumped by my girlfriend.
  7. I'll forgive her for climbing Kosciusko rather than the Carstensz Pyramid. If I remember correctly, when I was 20 I finally got my drivers license and got fired from my job making pizzas.
