Sum Equals Zero, Alpine Style on the Rupal Face With Patagonia Ambassador, Steve House Join Steve House as he takes you on a six-day alpine-style ascent of a new route on the worlds biggest wall: Nanga Parbat's Rupal Face. He and Vince Anderson resurected the old alpine philosophies of simplicity and courage to climb the 13,500-foot face in September 2005. With 60 pounds of gear, shelter, food, and clothing between them, they negotiated difficult pitches, poor rock, and epic bivouacs. Their ascent is sure to go down in history as one of the most important climbs ever. Thursday, March 16th HUB Auditorium – 7:30pm $10 with all proceeds donated to Washington Trails Association (www.wta.org), Central Asia Institute (www.ikat.org), and the Baltistan Education Fund. Tickets available at the HUB (206-543-2277), Patagonia Seattle (206-622-9700) and Pro Mountain Sports (206-522-1627) Brought to you by the UW Climbing Club Steve will also give a clinic at Pro Mountain Sports the afternoon the day of the show. Come on by and meet Steve.

i've heard it enhances volleyball play too, though

brazillions and americanos do, however, require oil.
-
besides, the spanish are naturally oily, and don't need a supplement.

So, Olay is a person, perhaps?
-
Do they carpet bomb the place with Oil of Olay? Where is Olay, anyway?

not the best idea to post those sorts of words in a public forum. right now there is just some yahoos throwing stuff down, next thing you know you'll have an organized group working against climbers...and there are a lot of ORVers. Better to take the high ground, IMO, and get things done via official methods. Its more work, takes longer, is frustrating, but in the end it might be more effective than starting a war between user groups.

a common thing to do, especially in rural areas...to prevent the "Stand By Me" type games played by the local teens, is to put more armor around the mailboxes. My parents have one built out of 1/4 steel and on a cement post that is buried four feet at the base. Are there notices that it is illegal to remove the signs...or is it even illegal?

I also want to say kudos to the Stranger for their labs. Such entertainment!

Indeed, the Washington Climbers Coalition may be able to help out with this matter. My main man Darryl Cramer can help us out with this matter, I believe.

That really sucks that that happened, and good for you with not completely going ballistic in that situation (it must have been difficult). It seems that the best course of action is to work within the existing relationship between the land manager and climbers to get this dealt with. Those are some pretty constructive and postive ideas when you take into account what you have went through...but we'll still need to get the land managers approval before doing anything there. I'll leave it at that, as there are many people who post here regularly that are way more involved in preserving/protecting climbers access to Index than I am.

Fun stuff. It is always a plus when everyone makes it back alive.

I really can't believe that Matt was out climbing without a rubber chicken. It just seems a little dangerous to me.
-
do you think there is any graupel on rapple grapple?
-
I don't believe it! Bring me down a bottle, and I'll do a taste test. Or better yet...a keg.
