The Town Crier thread made me remember a dream project that has haunted me for 3 years.
On the way down from Centerfold ,I scoped the amazing arete to the right of The Dihedral Route.
There looked to be enough features to allow a really strong climber to prehaps climb the most impressive unclimbed feature in Index.
As this is amazing line has been negelected and I live 1200 miles away with a full plate of projects...a challenge for the brave.
I propose the name The Great Cascadian Knife

One angle is to let unwitting friends decide.
Send some brave volunteers up your climbs and listen to the cries.
..mild wimpering is good. Terrified cursing is bad.
Another thought is:
Why go through a LOT of time and energy on your part if the bolt was not put in a spot that might not protect the leader.
Deciding where permanent pro goes is not as easy as some think.
I have been on both sides of the fence on this one...it's not easy to balance the creative and the possibly dangerous.
The PNW needs to realize that there are more strong women in other parts of the country... the "male trad superiority complex" that plagues Washington is lame.
There are at least 3 women in my circle that have climbed 5.13...they are more disiplined than anybody!
