"Oh honey, I apologize for whatever thing I did to you, that 'you' might have misunderstood, that 'you' might have taken the wrong way, that 'you' might have been offended by for some strange reason, that 'you' might have utterly NO understanding of because, well frankly, 'you' are not *ME* after all, and further I'd also like to (no, thoroughly enjoy) apologize for anything that I may or may not do in the future that you -or anyone else for that matter- might (for what ever reason) take offense at - or not. This will be my last word on this or any other possible future offense, which may or may not happen, and which in fact, may or may not be an actual offense, depending of coarse upon ones personal freedom of interpretation and freedom of expression. *I* am an arteeest after all, and in arteeezm anything goes.." Yours truly, DP Now if you'll excuse me, I must get back to teaching my monkey how to speak..

Everyone knows the best way to do Baker is to first check your Polish weather station (its ok Klenke, Im part Polish too). If the rock is wet, I mean rEELLY wEt, ie if its raining like MF'n cats n dogs in the low lands, then its a good day to go.. seriously, it scares the crowds away.

I made that decision years ago. Sad but true, Everest has, in many ways become a bad joke. Anyone seen the documentary where the rich lady (obviously never been on a mountain she had'nt driven up) is wondering to herself "why she came to base camp in the first place" as two sherpas seriously offer to *carry her* to the summit for a fee? Seems to me that greed, $$$ and ego have a way of fukin everything up. You have the subtle "greed" of the guide services for whome climbing (getting inexperienced "climbers" to the top) has become a "job". You have the $$$ of the rich who are able to buy anything in life they want - even a carry to the top, and then you have the egos of those who will let nothing and no amount of debt (financial or social) stop them from getting to the top. A microcosim of society as a whole id say, or maybe just the worst of it. I feel for the Sherpa people though. BTW - not to stray to far away from "ethics" but if you can (and do) regularly climb 5.4 - 5.6 unroped then (congratz to your ego, you are a badass even if only in your own little mind) please stay the fuk on the harder routes and leave the low fives to those who need them to learn yr "badass" technique. If you climb hard then stay hard or quit complaining about long lines! Thers some ethics for ya

So, how 'bout a nice 300,000 volt power line or six running thru your favorite climbing area - say for example Joshua Tree, etc..? "Energy corridors may cut a swath through wild areas" http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2003019871_corridors26m.html

Or.., if climbing is banned then the national parks lose an important demigraphic of support and are maybe that much closer to becoming a golf coarse or condo spread. Stupid actions beget stupid reactions, and in the age of instant karma we need to be smarter than Potter. Its,, its!!! Its almost like everything is conected to everything else! And, and that everyones actions effect everyone else!! Whoa dudes... I can see everything happening all at once!! Yeeeaaaaiiii!!! BTW the last 'badass' is Becky so everyone else should give up the posing, they just look silly anyway.

Apparently "the climb" was more like 'several climbS' by DP that morning. He must not have gotten enough good vibes from just the one ascent. I pretty much agree with the op-ed below. Arch ascent was all about the climber excerpts; "..Ignoring rules in place to protect Utah's most recognized icon, he climbed Delicate Arch in Arches National Park not once, but several times.." "..Then Patagonia comes out in support, saying it prefers to deal with people like Potter who don't go "by the book." Meaning what, it encourages its ambassadors to violate, in this case, the intent of the law to preserve a national treasure?.." Patagonia wants to support the spirit of the climber/rebel/hardman of the past but fails to realize that this is not the "60's or 70's in the valley", its 2006 and the key word is cooperation. A Big to their argument in defense of DP.

umm, ok, a couple years back my bro lost an ice tool thingy. It was one of those little (staight, blue-green shaft) charlet moser (i think) axes with a hammer and no adze. REI used to sell them. He lost it up there somewhere but we had no idea where. We thought perhaps it was when we were sliding on our asses back down to the trail , not sure though. "50 people" on the summit? omfg I thought the numbers were supposed to be declining..thats Mount Hood like. D

Hey, just wunderin if its ok to climb the rock just left (west) of the little Si parking lot? It looks short, but fun (if a bit crumbly). Im talking about the cliff about 100 yards west of the *new* little Si parking lot, behind the fence - right off Mt Si road. Don't know if its off limits for some reason though?? THNX D

Did anyone else catch the video the guy made on the rim of St Helens? Pretty freaky with a shaking camera from the constant earth quakes and loud rock slides in the back ground..

Apparently, Bush ACTUALLY DOES own 10 percent of a timber company though he seemed in the "debate" to be unawares of this..

Don't confuse flexibility with lack of conviction. Kerry can atleast touch his toes, the last time Bush tried that he fell off his bike! Conservative environmentalist - I like it

Its all politics. Senn often challanged insurance companies, held up rate increases etc., when she was Insurance Commish. She didn't always toe the corporate line, favored the lower classes and now she is being paid back for her "crimes". Piss off the big $$$ folks and they'll get you eventually..

Thats the scariest thing Ive seen in quite some time..Ahh for the days of sticking your head directly inside the concert speaker because 197 decibels just wasn't enough. Or was this last weeks pub club?

Just think, he is our "leader", the most powerful man on earth, the one we chose to represent our nation to the rest of the world, the one we elected,...well....almost elected. Ok, now close your eyes, click your heels together, and just say, "there's no place like home", "there's no place like home",...
