  1. Mtnguide, I appreciate your concern, but in large part agree with what ggk is saying here. I did not take a bad fall, don't have really noticeable inflammation, can weight bear. I've broken more bones than most people due to low bone density (please don't drop me on a hard surface, parts do break), and there is nothing broken bone about this. It wouldn't even be of much concern except that my job can be physically demanding, and I do ski 2 or 3 days a week and need to make sure I don't create a big long-term injury out of this.
  2. The pain is pretty deep in there and if I were to point at it, I would either point staight in from my side, or from slighly more rearward on the outboard side of my butt. I thought the hip flexor was more in the front, am I on acid? GG, not sure how to seek treatment as I am a Group Death member. Is it something that would be treated my a PT, LMP, or someone else? Tx.
  3. Of course we do, and I don't either.
  4. In this case, 4K doesn't seem like a high enough fine. Wonder why 90% of cases of people going out of bounds rather than wallowing back to the ski area base are snowboarders...?
  5. Yesterday morning I caught an edge while skiing and did something to my hip. It hurts way deep in there, like under the muscle and fat, right near the hip socket. It hurts to walk, ski, stand up, and go down stairs. I can't figure out how to stretch it. Any ideas as to what I've done to myself? Any suggestions besides RICE about what to do?
  6. Dood, I will always be happy to give you lessons in snow driving, it's just the skiing in snow thing, well that is where you have to hire the guy or gal to teach you thing kicks in...
  7. But why not drape it around the tree, as Dale suggests? Then you have a lesser risk of stressing the tree than by girdling it, and just as safe a way to rap off the tree? Seems like a gentler way to get down to me.
  8. I'll be sure to pass on this pearl of wisdom to the woman my father is married to. She is an attorney and a judge. I guess in your eyes she must be all of the above.

  10. These are tough and trying times for the legal system. The courts definitely did the right thing.

    MUFFY"S DIARY

Dear Muffy, You have been a great inspiration to me today. Now I know that I am not the only one having a crappy holiday season. I think I will get into the zen space known as "sewing." Sewing is very Zen.
  12. Very well put, SC. I think the Iraquis might be feeling a little bit more gratitude in our general direction(s) if they had in any way ASKED us to liberate them from their tyrannical leader. They didn't invite us. We INVADED their country and now we occupy it. No one should be surprised that there is insurrection against an occupying force, no matter how (allegedly) high-minded the reason for the invasion and overthrow of the government.
  13. And ever since RB started ignoring me, I don't get insulted by him.
  14. Homeowners or renters typically covers a loss like this. How much you get is determined by your deductible and whether your policy calls out Actual Cash Value or Replacement Value.
  15. FWIW, your renter's or homeowner's insurance should cover your loss.
  16. I don't really care if it looks poseurish or not. Having a second, softer pair of skis that I can use is all that really matters to me.

  18. Definitely Jennifer Garner.
  19. Tried that combo today. Seemed to work fine.
  20. Found a few bits of freshiez today. Bleubird weather. Anyone been to Alpental yet? Wonder if there is enough snow to cover.
  21. huh?
  22. Except that what happens is the one kid that didn't make it on the chair ends up going up on the next chair BY HIMSELF because the next people are a group of four. Then when the kids get called on the shit they say that "the people in the singles line have to get a chance too" not getting that the single line doesn't give you the right to go to the front of the line. Jesus, I need to get a beacon and leave the freaking ski lift thing behind.
  23. A full-blown trial would likely incriminate a number of US officials. Don't count on it.
  24. The novelty has now worn off. At least for me.
  25. Yes, that is absolutely the problem. They've got to spin it very carefully, and in the meantime the Dems should be promoting the idea that dissent is not unpatriotic.
