I have used both camping, but as you mentioned the handle does get a little messed up from using it on a XGK. My GSI lasted about 5 years and is great solo, but with another person, you have to have some way of cooling it down so that you load it for a second shot. They also make a doble shot pourer . Most recently, I got into brewing in advance and carrying my shot in small nalgene bottles. My home expresso maker always made a better shot and the weight of shot was just a little heavier than the little maker. This works great for overnights or couple of nights, but if I was going longer I would bring my GSI.

Yeah talking to people about Poi, it sounds like the crux of climbing there is the approaches and poachers/cattle rustlers. Though it also sounds like the climbs themselves are no give away.

I am going to be back for a little bit this summer and I definitely want to get back into WA Pass again. This time though I want to branch away from the Liberty Group. Looking for suggestions on the Wine Spires and other peaks, climbs, whatever. So what your favorites and why?

Ah the Brick, I miss going there after running laps down RatPac. There are boulders on the hillside that RatPac is on, but I have never slowed down enough to check them out and I think they might be a little too spread apart.

Very easy to do as well, though I highly doubt it would be needed. The tool that is used is call an R-tool. It threads into the hanger and has a bar rotates around the wheel that is used for alligning assessment and bending. It uses the wheel to assess whether the hanger is alligned (you need to make sure that your wheel is true before beginning). Most shops have R-tools even the very small shops, it is the most frequently used allignment tool. Again most likely your hanger will not be affected by bending your frame or just shoving the wheel in place. Bicycles are not rockets, they do not have very strick tollerances.

Not hard at all most decent sized shops will have allignment tool. Drop out allignment tool are really easy to use. They have arms that bolt onto the outside of the frame, cups in the center that are used to gauge the allignment. 2 minutes tops to allign.

As mentioned before just put the wheel in the frame. It is 1cm we talking about. Don't bother with trying to bend the frame, it will cost you more than it is worth and you actually might have problem with allignment of your bike even if you have it done professionally. I have done this many time while working a shop and retro fitting older frames with more modern components. Once the wheel is in place, it is worthwhile to check the alignment, run a string from the outside of the dropout to the head tube on both sides of the bike. The space inbetween the string and the seat tube should be the same for both sides. Everytime I have retro fitted a bike, maybe 10 or times the stays have spread evenly and there was no effect on allignment. So I just looked at Sheldon's page, that has the DIY frame spreading suggestion, it should work no problem at all, but I still would just shove the wheel in the frame and be done with it. If you do go the route of spreading your frame it might be worthwhile to bring in your bike to have the dropouts checked and alligned if needed.

Well another area that I have heard about, but there is very little info out there about. Poi is located in the northern part of Kenya, it sounds like the approaches to the cliff can be quite brutal, but with 700m of rock looming above, worth it. Here is the linkity link.

Looks like a fun route. Still need to get to that area and do some climbing, I have only done one route there, but really liked the rock and the scenery. It is crazy how close it is to one of the armpits of America.

Yeah those freakers definitely freak me out. I went to a croc park down in Bujambura in Burundi and we fed Romeo a snaffle. I wish I CCcom had a place for videos. So it is Tuesday night in Nairobi, what does that mean? Well it is fucking Pub Club african style. Yep the mountain club of Kenya (MCK) has pubclub type thing that CC commies have. Hang out have beer, talk climbing and make plans to climb. You got love the world climbing community, didn't take long after landing to get a plan for the weekend. I fly into Nairobi at 5, check in to my hotel at 5:30, work a little, dinner at 7:30, taxi ride to the club house at 8:30, drink beer and try to find a partner, luckily this PC is organized and the dude leading it adds me to the agenda, "Ken from Kigali looking to climb on Saturday and needs ride back to his hotel", plans made at 9:30 to climb Saturday, back at the hotel at 10:00, fuck more work, well not yet. except for the work part, fawk fawk fawk.

I thought you were a biologist like DH said. Was that just an internship or something? From the sounds of it I was pretty lucky compared to you guys, but still got some things to work out, like becoming a legit with work permit and all. Right now I have to leave the country every 3 month or else I will get kicked out. When I first came out my job was going to be houseboy, but with in two weeks I began working. It has been a cool project, but at first they nickle and dimed me into the position, but once my contract was up and I had proved my worth I was able to ask for more than double pay increase. This all reminds me at some point I got to up date my lab report with pictures of the lab now that it has technicians, equipment in place, and operational. And like boulderboy, I do appreciate all your banter back in the PNW of climbs, parties and debauchery.
