  1. Cell phones are obviously the "foam pads" of the alpine set...granted the conveinence of having a rescue at your fingertips is very nice but what is the actual cost of such convenience and does it precipitate a casual attitude towards potentially hazardous undertakings? Thusly causing society to view climbers as a nuisance and a waste of taxpayers money. Really WTF kind of illusions are we creating?
  2. A white mans burning man....wait...nevermind
  3. Dudes...anything involving the white, leached, cone shaped navajo sandstone cap in Zion National Park: Wheat Chex, East entrance ZNP 1985, I accidentally kicked loose a 20 pound block on my partner...by the time it reached him 50 feet below it was a rain of sand.

  8. Jesus christ...hes dead...lets move on...enough morons in the government...why celebrate another in the long line of incompetents that have graced the white house halls.
  9. Your welcome. Climbing and the essence of the climber is not about whether you clip bolts, place pro, boulder or nail...it about the freedoms, the open ended spirit this game provides us with. We dedicate ourselves...our lives ( if we are truely climbers) to the pursuit of constantly pushing ourselves mentally AND physically while embracing a community of like minded souls. In community we find our true power and in constant conflict or flux we truly define our individual goals.
  10. Jesus fucking christ, this web page is the essense of the soul of a climber if ever I saw it. Rebel, coward, hero, lover, or underdog...the spirit of the individual is alive and well at CC.com. Moderation is the conduit to complacency and the conflict between percieved "good" and "evil" here on CC.com is a tribute to those that aspire to perpetuate the spirit of the individual.
  11. Yup, I had gotten up for a drink and saw a brilliant flash outside...I thought it was fireworks but it was too bright and brief!

  13. Its amazing how animals can sense people they dont like or trust, my dog is hella friendly with nearly everyone...once in awhile she'll express anger or distrust of someone...then she either ignores em or get all uppity. I leash my pup all the time and you would be amazed how many folks thank me for respecting the leash law. I remember one incidence of hiking on the trail to Rachel lake, a fellow we passed told us there were dogs ahead...sure enough three med to big (Sheperd/Rotts)unleashed with their owners trying to restrain the obviously very AGGRO animals from coming after us. I was FUCKING pissed at how ignorant and rude these folks were, they seemed pissed we disturbed their hike and made them break a sweat holding back their dogs. Peeve: Overreactive fucks with guns and stupid Ass dog owners.

Wow, that's kind of like taking "God" out of the Pledge to protect the feelings of two or three school children (who probably don't give a flying flip one way or the other when their parents aren't in the room). Whats GoD?

  23. Golden Eagle pass is valid at National parks and water based NRA; "Lake Mead National Recreation Area" and the like. Your gonna need a Washington State specific permit from: WDFW or just use the sticker you got if you purchased a state fishing/hunting license.
