  1. Fejas- the river leg is a joke, it is from the Colorado Bridge (near Deschutes Brewery Warehouse) and drake Park Mirror Pond. The water is glass, so the ladies can put dem big ol ... on the glass Let me know if you want to join it. I have a dandy wooden canoe that I could use but would rather not. Adventure Gal- The downhill course starts with a short run up the hill to your gear, and then a very easy groomed run. I'd say rather flat, Intermediate run (just like most of Mt. Bachelor). If you need gear, I can get you rentals for free. If fejas can do the boat leg, then I can do the downhill and the run. This would be excellent. So far Sketch is in for sure, and can hold down the bike leg, and possibly the run leg if need be. email me at tcrawford <aht>mtbachelor<daht>com with ?'s
  2. DAMN! drooool. I spent my weekend doing a SAR navigation GPS course. The weather was shite here in central OR. Saturday had rain, hail and then snow in town. Glad you guys had a good time up there
  3. Ha, I can't find a start time either, i think it is around 8-9ish So if you guys want to join in we need to do so soon, the cost is $43 per person on the team. Lodging will be provided by cascadeclimbers.com as will the HC. AG- we still need a skier... if you want to do the downhill and XC that would probably work best logistically Sketch- you could do the bike leg? or maybe Jon if he is still into it Anyhow, lets try to see who is still in by this afternoon and figure sumtin out this should be a good time, we can have an sausage fest at my house afterwards and go climb at smiffy that afternoon or ski or whatever tim
  4. cletus and i went to the banff festival in bend both notes, i enjoyed it but again there wasn't enough mountain porn. i too enjoyed the denali flick, and the one about the canadians boating that long ass river in russia. front range freaks was entertaining, but indeed, too many "thinking" movies, i don't like to think, i want to be shocked and awed
  5. tasty, sounds like we might have a squad, no i dont' have a team yet but you and another both said they'd be interested. I guess i could flail through the xc leg, i'll pm ya
  6. ... on saturday?
  7. found a nalgene today at smiffy near the shipreck crag, tell me the name on it and its yours
  8. i had the pleasure of climbing with diestel32 and he saw just how much i suxoor. he is a fine young lad, the future of WA Climbing. this weekend: fri - wandering the desert east of bend in search of the sacred crag of HC sat - wanking sunday working and skiing freshiez of course
  9. i think i only took like 5-10 shits tops in the backcountry last year. i didn't get out on many extended trips, when i go on overnighters, my pooping cycle changes, its very odd
  10. at this point in time, i won't be able to make it. i'm without my truck this weekend, so unless i can mooch a ride up there, and somewhere back, eg pdx or something, i'm fahqed. i know diestel32 is in town, but not sure what way or when he is heading back north if i do find a ride, i will bring some obsidian stout
  11. i think you should take whatever money you are going to spend on snowshoes and get yourself some AT skis, you'll enjoy your time much more, and it makes descents way plabber
  12. firm small tits in the lead, fascinating!
  13. no worries, just wanted ot let you in on my new theory ohhh fellow turd burglar
  14. warning, if you are going to be near mazama or perhaps washington pass, i hear the area is going to be overrun by drunker washington gapers. they will be thrutching up hills on skins and flailing their way down, you have been warned.
  15. i have a pocketpc2002, a toshiba model and its ok, but it would be better if it were my cell phone
  16. i'd say wait a bit until the phone pda integration is a bit more solid. it really depends on what you use on your desktop to manage email and contacts. if you are tied to M$ outlook, then a pocket pc is the obvious choice
  17. please read the PTL post, coffee indeed has an effect on PTL
  18. There is a link up in the nav bar now, as well as one right here: http://www.cascadeclimbers.com/review/index.php Here's how it works, you submit a product, preferably attach a picture, review it, and others review it, and we have a nifty little resource/structure that is/ to find out shit about gear. If there is a category/subcategory that you would like to see, post it to this thread. This new feature was brought to use through the donations of our users and the sponsors of Hot Deals, thank you all. tim
  19. "Indeed Jon, the new review system will truly leverage the .SPRAY technology platform, and will be in line with our goal and vision of getting spray anywhere, anytime, on any device"
  20. there are some excellent volcanic cracks, not really slot canyons, that one can crawl down into and explore, as well as some dry river bed canyons around central and eastern oregon, but nothing like what is seen in southern Utah and Arizona
  21. <rant> i fucking hate printers, and i hate people who print out sensless shit. you know who you are. </rant> if you export would it show your tracks waypoints etc? you could always go ghetto mode and take a screen shot, not as much fun as a freshie face shot, but still might werk
  22. excuse my momentary absence from the freshiezone, i am good for one thing, and one thing only, and that is dispensing of my bachy conditions, here goes: The current operating hours are from 8am til 1pm, this means you can get a cheap lift ticket for $29, not bad. The only chairs that will be running mid week are Pine and Summit (weather permiting of course), summit has been open the past 5 or so days though. This weekend, Skyliner, and possibly NWX will also be open for the "last" time on each of these chairs. Snow Conditions: The past few days have been rather cool in the AM, and too warm in the PM, which creates a wonderful crusty icy layer over most of your fav spots on the hill. Hucks off the summit and back side can be good once it thaws out a bit, but before it gets too warm. We we're on the West side late saturday and it was fantastic down in the trees above the catchline. BREAKING NEWS: FRESHIE ALERT FOR THE NEXT 3 DAYS Forecast calls for the following: Wed: L 29 H 40 1-2" Thur: L 26 H 33 1-3" Fri: L20 H 30 2-4" Sat: L19 H 30 1-3" and the same for sunday so freshie friends, things are looking tasty on old bachy. winds are supposed to light, not getting over 15mph the whole time, the only issue i see is summit not opening due to visibility, but I'd venture to guess it will for sure be open on the weekend to keep the skiiers happy. hope that does it for ya, lemme know if you are coming and i'll shred mass spring freshiez
  23. i think he is talking about opening the road from the elk lake side, indeed there is still a bit of snow at dutchman, but the road near elk lake should be melted out, or close to being so. if anybody is going to do the marathon, and needs a ride back to bend, just let me know, I can pick you up anytime, or if you want to store beer in my office fridge i'll promise not to drink it
