  1. OK, at 3:34:29.45 everybody do the ice dance. And sharpen your tools.
  2. Not entirely true, Dru. Think of trying to hold on to a chopstick. It takes mucho strength. Tennis players have interechangeable handles, why can't we? Huh, BD?
  3. You mean -sized balls?
  4. I fondled the Ergo at REI. I liked the grip with bare hands. I couldn't swing the thing to save my life, but for hooking...maybe. So I put on some gloves, tried the grip. Goddamn thing is WAYYYYYY too small. Doesn't anyone else out there have HUGE hands/feet? Come on!! Am I a freak? (Don't reply Eric8, you know the answer.)
  5. I thought that all posters on this board are vegans, like Trask, Ct. Caveman, etc.
  6. Where would that be? Vail? France? Actually, France sounds pretty good.
  7. I'll move up too...Buy a house in Terrebonne, one in Canmore, make friends with someone who works for some airline and fly around! Any takers?
  8. FUUUUUCK! Hopefully when I get back from my parents' place at the beginning of Jan something will have formed up. This was the wrong winter to try to start ice climbing.
  9. Lucky bastard. I'm stuck studying. Then back to Oregon for Christmas.
  10. All the BD tools have a rubber gasket between the halves of the head assembly. After tightening the picks of my Rages I noticed that some of the rubber gets squeezed out, ready to be trashed. Has anybody else had this problem? Suggestions?
  11. Isn't it like 150?
  12. I dunno. The primaloft garments seem to have almost no loft. Wouldn't that translate to less warmth? As for Polarguard being too bulky, my Golite 6MN is about as bulky as two fleeces, but way warmer.
  13. LMAO
  14. PM me. Always looking for new partners.
  15. The Golite packs also look interesting, especially the Gust. If they made an Epic-shelled Six Month Night it would be the best jacket around. Lets wait, maybe they will.
  16. LMAO. I know I have a Bosch in my closet somewhere...
  17. The idea is that angling the screws down lets the threads resist the pull. Otherwise the ice can shatter more easily, decreasing strength.
  18. Not entirely. The belayer is pulled up, the rope absorbs force too, so according to smart people, the force on the draw is about 1.6T.
  19. Or how about some computer climbing? Anybody have some vicarious exeriences they would like to share. I need a new chair. My ass is getting sore already.
  20. Exactly. I'm glad my message was so clear.
  21. I sewed a nylon face shield to keep wind from going down the neck. Enjoy it!
  22. I need a parner who can teach me how to ice climb. I am a willing belay slave, though.
  23. That's true. A better example is, quoted from Jon Waterman's book, "..you're nothing but a low-life, worm-eating, shit-licking son of a whore!!" (coming from a Denali guide to a reverend client)
  24. Dumbass. They should have taken a picture of the belayer, he could be featured in the next edition of How To Ice Climb.
