  11. Could a reasonably capable small person (aka 10yr old) handle the scrambling?
  12. No, not fungus. It is a chemical called diacetyl, that gives popcorn its butter flavor. I causes lung problems in the workers in the factories where they make that product. oh good one more thing that i need to avoid. somebody just pass me the the organic bean sprouts and wheatgerm please.

I know this has degenerated into an Otter thread, but 2 days ago I very nearly ran over a beaver on my bike - it was walking along the riverside bike path, in the dark. Then last night biking home, I saw a muskrat. No otters yet. you otter be more careful ***sorry i just couldn't help myself. that was just too easy to pass up****
  15. it was sort of a facetious comment. i know it's from a Q&A. Guess the point was that he should really avoid this kind of situation. inevitably he comes off sounding undereducated and nearly illiterate.
  16. "I think it's working, and the reason why I think it's working is 'cause we're measuring, and the measurement's showing progress toward teaching people how to read and write and add and subtract," Bush said. "If we're going to spend federal money, we expect the states to show us whether or not we're achieving, you know, simple objectives, like literacy, literacy in math, the ability to read and write." maybe this comes from the new homeland department of homeland redudancy department.
  17. yup! i certainly would've killed my better half if he'd gone into debt for my token of his affection. i would expect that any family heirloom would not be given until the wedding. it would likely be made clear that it would need to be returned in the event of failure. however, i've heard of several cases when that didn't happen. buyer beware i guess.
  18. my understanding is that the custom of the engagement ring was basically as security for the commitment to wed. should the engagement be broken there would be a price for it. thus such things would not be entered into nor broken w/o much consideration. admittedly, in today's society this custom is unnecessarily one sided. regardless, she should take the cad's gift and do something good with it. i recommend using his credit card to buy a matching stone and get a nice pair of ear rings out of the deal.
  19. not. irrespective of what went bad, the ring goes back to the guy. why? it was a gift. further she's not the one who blew it. if she was the one who had posted the add and he wanted to break it off then she should give it back but he's the one who effed up.
  20. i'm surprised he has the balls to ask for it back. he should just away w/his tail between his legs.

    Could it be?

shouldn't this have been post #25,000 for dru?
  22. It would be good to see the ad. Hell, we all know he's single and available now. hmmmm...sounds like he might be able to get a date right away.
  23. doesn't it worry you a little that that someone is a cc.com poster?
  24. moving away from all this sociopolitical stuff and getting back on point....rumr-if you need a bikini top to support your man-boobs then you should definitely wear one. just not anywhere near me please. marie--i've seen many girls do this. seems like at smith more than elsewhere. i think if you're not particularly well endowed there's no reason not to.
  25. Nice job to all involved. Do I understand the article correctly that the entire purchase price was funded from a single donation? That's great. Hopefullly the rest of the donations will be enough to provide the future funds necessary to maintain the purchase for awhile!
