  1. Come check it out. It works on Macs as well as PCs.
  2. You needn't have worried...
  3. Yes, that is correct. I hate having to press the little green ball AND rotate the collar at the same time. Jopa found one, such as I described. I want the large size because I use it with an Alpine Bod harness, which does not have a belay loop.
  4. I think the Attache is a little bit smaller than the Williams, is it not?
  5. Reminds me a little of On the Beach, where they traveled from Australia to Bangor in a submarine to check out a mysterious radio signal. Turns out it was the wind blowing a curtain that had hung up on a telegraph key, or somesuch.
  6. Colin has fire in his eyes. I can recognize Wayne from the bald spot.
  7. Can someone tell me if there is a keylock pearabiner with an autolock, but not a ball-autolock (like the Petzl William Ball Autolock)?
  8. j_b, you think too much.
  9. (Hint: Renton)
  10. Tagatose is similar to Fructose, with which many are familiar. It is more sugar-like than any of the other sugar substitutes. Sucralose (Splenda) is the next closest thing. It is glucose with three hydroxyl groups replace with chlorines. The only possible downside I can think of with tagatose is that since it is similar in sweetness to sugar, you use a lot of it and since it is not absorbed completely in the intestine, there is the possiblity for osmotic diarrhea. Scott the one you are thinking of is aspartame. It is the methyl ester of dipeptide, so it hydrolyzes to methanol in the stomache. Free aspartic acid is also formed, which isn't good for you either, but that is another story. What else would you like to know? Tagatose Fructose
  11. I suspect that spammers will use a given return address once per mailing. So if you block that address it has no impact whatsoever.
  12. Maybe the guy needs to take the Mountaineers Basic Climbing Course.
  13. You'd think an employer would be concerned with its public image. This particular one didn't count on being pickup by Ananova.
  14. Why not pick a mountain that already has a tunnel under it? Cadet Peak is such a mountain. There are many such mountains with mine shafts. At least you would already have information on the rock formations.
  15. You mean Trask's girlfriend's gully, don't you?
  16. It's been a bad week for accidents on the freeway. This morning on my way to work, I saw a nasty one on South bound I-5 in Lynnwood. Someone rear ended a blue SUV and in a variation on "Smile as you Go Under", the rear end of the SUV ended up ten feet in the air, resting on the hood of the car that rear-ended it. I don't like to smile at other's misfortunes, but at the same time it was spectacular.
  17. We ought to dump on these assholes: http://www.schroeder-uehlken.de/ Here's their e-mail address: info@schroeder-uehlken.de
  18. Fairweather, we can always count on you to stick up for the Corporate Giants, while the little guy keeps getting squashed like a bug. Hey, let no man accuse you of being inconsistent.
  19. How DID they do that? Truly amazing.
  20. Yes, but hopefully, the books are different. I'm reading FBI: Behind the World's Most Powerful Law Enforcement Agency by Ronald Kessler. A lot of the stories I've heard before, but many I have not. It's an enjoyable read.
  21. This is turning into the "Out of the Closet" thread, ain't it?
  22. Oh bother , it's just National ID Cards again. The only people worried about ID cards are illegal immigrants, criminals and avatars on cc.com.
  23. Trask, for all you do this is for you.
  24. It is clear that you have somehow stumbled upon a lifestyle which allows you to stay out of prison, so I don't see any reason why you should change now.
