    Madam Opal

Madame Opal, why is it that whenever I post in Spray, Iain and trask are not far behind?
  2. That's a good reason to tie in to the anchor.
  3. Thanks for reminding me Paul, I do intend to buy you that beer. Remember, I'd rather owe it to you all my life than cheat you out of it.
  4. Not only are you a better climber but a better knife catcher.
  5. Has anyone ever accidentally knocked a knife off the counter and grabbed for it. I've knocked knives off before, but don't ever remember grabbing for one. The reflex is so fast, you'd think there was no thought involveed, but there must be.
  6. Where is the report? I might have been drunk, but I could swear I heard it on the news the other night. Just thought someone else might have heard the same thing. Dude, check out my arsenal... Gol Crickey, I am sure glad all that potential mayhem is kept locked up in a good safe.
  7. Trask, if you are bored, you should try what many of us CC.com members do when we get bored- go climbing. It's really fun.
  8. I was just reading about the Pig Shit Geyser in Franken's book. It was funny as hell, unfortunately it's true.
  9. I think they finally came up with a good solution. They are going to seal off Saddam's home town. Read about it.
  10. I live in Seattle and I checked at 9, and 11 pm, 2 am and 5:30 am and saw nothing.
  11. What a relief. For a minute there, I thought Dwayner had gotten a hold of trask's password.
  12. I'd rather think of you as a center- leaning reactionary, but to each his own.
  13. Badgers again.
  14. Knots in the ends would be such a problem if you could just remember to untie them. I suppose it only has to happen once...
  15. Necro, I guess that means you really don't care for the guy.
  16. There is a book, Northwest disaster; avalanche and fire, that was published in 1960 about the firestorms that occurred in Wyoming and Montana in 1910. Part of the book was about the avalanche at Wellington. The author's name was Ruby El Hult and the book is still available in the King County Library System. It is a good read.
  17. The task is so huge that if they don't concentrate on the Forest-Urban interface no improvement in number of homes lost to fire will result. Even then, it will take 10-15 years.
  18. Ah, distinctly I remember it was in the snowless October, And each separate dying pixel wrought its ghost upon my face. Eagerly I wished for new Spray; — vainly I had tried to pray From my books surcease of sorrow — sorrow for Miss Normandy — Or the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Anna — Nameless here for evermore.

    Hmmm ???

  20. "Hey, this rock is loose..."
  21. Did you see the story about the two old dames who when confronted with an intruder carrying a shotgun plied him with sandwiches and rum. When he finally passed out, they called the cops who came and arrested him.
  22. When the snow is of just the right consistency, igloos can go up in a hurry - if you know what you are doing (like Nanook). The last time I built one, it took me two hours.
  23. Hey, trask, where'd you get that black eye?
  24. Trask, show me where you got that 95% figure. I think that should be "loathed by 95% of NRA life members".
