Whew! I thought you were going to say you got the infection from the Haagen Daz. Sounds like you developed a lactose intolerance. Maybe you were always lactose intolerant, but having not consumed dairy for a prolonged period, your body lost its abilty to adjust. Also, the antibiotics may have killed off organisms needed to digest lactose.

Wait just a cotton-picking minute! What happened to your Haagen Daz? Tell, tell, tell.

They've got street shoes that look like bowling shoes. Then why not faux rock shoes? If you have the look, that is all that matters, right? By the way, this the about the twentieth thread with the subject of "WTF". WTF, is not very descriptive.

Courtenay's Thread didn't actually go very far for some reason. The website www.heelspurs.com is the most comprehensive resource I have found on the web.

MisterE, Rabbit-Proof Fence was a good movie. I enjoyed it.

Thread with Dane's Good Pictures

The lake IS shallow, but you will note that the boat is a proa (outrigger canoe) which draws less than six inches of water.

If I recall there was an old thread on plantar fasciitis. I had it for three years from running. Orthotics cured it. For some people it can become an intractable problem. I expect that your case will go away quickly because it was brought on by an acute insult which is unlikely to be repeated. I used to work summers painting. If you are spending any time at all on ladders I suggest wearing a stiff pair of boots.

Where's Dane?

Yes and Troy was popular back in 1250 BC, but those goddam Greeks ruined everything. It goes to show you everything comes back into style if you are willing to wait long enough.

Looks like they'd make a darn good weapon too, if you knew how to throw them just right.

Keeping your strength/motivation during an injury
catbirdseat replied to carolyn's topic in Fitness and Nutrition Forum
Seems like at this stage of your recovery, you need a trainer or a physical therapist. You need to build strength and you need to build resistance to re-injury by excercising the right muscle groups. Having said that, I'm no expert by any means. -
Nevermind, as in Nevermind Wall.

I was sitting here reading threads when I heard a crash in the pantry. I go in there and there are two cans on the floor. I look around for a cat or the dog, but they are all in the living room. Half an hour later, I'm in the bathroom and again I hear crashing in the pantry. The sewing room is above so I ask my wife if she's dropped anything. "No", was the reply. I go in the pantry and now there are spice bottles on the floor. What is going on here? I look up on the spice rack and there is a snake on top, knocking things down- our poultergeist. It was one of my wife's cornsnakes which had escaped. Now, how to get him down without knocking twenty spice jars down. I go to grab him but he resists and the jars are tottering. I let him go and he slithers behind the flour and sugar jars where he thinks he can hide. "Got you you little bugger", and back in his terrarium he went. "Oh, there are two snakes missing". Where's the other one? I guess he'll turn up soon enough, probably in the finch cage.

Ultramega Crack is rated 5.8, but it's an Exit 38 5.8, which means it feels like 5.6. It's a long hike up there for that one crack, but there are three other cracks nearby, one on Chainsaw Wall, Crack One With Me 5.7, and one on the Peannacle, Salutiferous Exaltation, 5.8. "Crack One" looked rather short and unappealing. "Salutiferous" is kind of neat in it's own way. It takes a variety of small to medium cams.

I've been told that Spectres are useful for getting in something quick to provide temporary protection while something better is being put in. I found this site about winter climbing in the UK . The "ice hooks" they refer to are the same as Spectres I take it.

Ade says they use them a lot in Scotland where there is frozen moss and dirt in abundance. Says they work like a dream. They are aptly named.

Trask, which of Santa's lists are you on? Naughty or Nice?

I think it was a mistake to move this thread to spray. There was some good climbing talk going on despite the tripe that was added since crackbolter's request. I say delete all the crap and move it back.

Ade mentioned wart-hogs once. Please explain what they are. Also, am I correct in assuming that the Russian screws are for bailing or for screwing into ice filled cracks (which will ruin the screw), when all else fails?

I'm absolutely decimated.

I used to work for a company that was trying to use Yttrium 90, a strong beta emitter, to kill cancers. The Y90 was chelated to a molecule containing biotin. Antibody to receptors found on the cancer cell was cloned to have a strepavidin site on it. Give the antibody to the patient. The AB binds to cancer cell. Then give the Y-90/biotin. The biotin binds to the avidin and hence the Y-90 to the cancer cell. The cancer cell is toast. Normal, healthy cells aren't killed because they don't have the receptors. Too bad the project was killed for lack of money, because it worked. There were patients who had failed up to 6 different kinds of treatments. The were some who had complete responses who otherwise would have died within a few months.

There was an article in the paper today about that. Some lawyer is still trying to get autopsy photos of Vince Foster. The suit went all the way to the Supreme Court. http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/national/apwashington_story.asp?category=1154&slug=Scotus%20Foster%20Photos
