  1. I know of at least three arborists/landscapers who are climbers. I would think that someone who works physically that hard would not want to tramp all over the mountains, but these guys get out.
  2. You are very suggestible. Hey, everybody! Let's come up with other wacky things for Michael to recite out loud in the coffee shop!
  3. Say that fast, five times: weed wacker wire.
  4. Come on dude, I'm calling a spade a spade.
  5. I like a drizzle of dressing on my salad.
  6. Call me a "paranoid safety freak" then. I'll continue to climb with a helmet. The way I look at it, the brain I have is the only one I'll ever have. A trade-in would be nice, but not an option.
  7. Last night at rehearsal, someone said, "The Seahawks are winning 42 to nothing!" I said, "the SEATTLE Seahawks?" The answer was, "yeah, THOSE Seahawks".
  8. I think it's the not bathing and lots of rich foods and wine. Where is that famous Russian sprayer we used to have? What was his name? He was all into red meat, etc.
  9. It wouldn't do to fall on a piece of rebar sticking up out of concrete. That would hurt. You know some of that stuff is better than the fake special effects they do in Hollywood.
  10. The guy resembles Brent Spiner.

Because it can come untied too easily.
  12. I don't disagree with you on chainsaws. There just isn't enough money to pay the large crews needed to do the work by hand. Trails are not being maintained as they should.

Carrick bend is out then. Your rewoven sheet bend should work, or else a double sheet bend, for cordage with a slippery core, such as Spectra. In the double sheet bend you make two loops instead of one.
  14. This rules rewrite is not about trails maintenance. It's about commercial exploitation of the wilderness by off-road vehicle manufacturers. It's about money.
  15. Snowing in Bellevue, but not sticking yet. Starting to stick to the grass.
  16. Is that your own handwriting? It's beautiful.
  17. This came up about a year ago in another thread. So if this phenomenon is real, Western Europe should be experiencing colder weather right now. Are they? Or is it going to take time for local waters to cool?
  18. What a great way to stop those unwanted PM's!
  19. Cobra Commander climbs trad. DFA is a sporto.
  20. Of greater importance is where has RobBob been since February?

A Carrick Bend is as strong as a Double Fisherman, stronger than a Sheet Bend, yet is easier to untie after it has been loaded. If you use it, it is recommended to back it up with either siezings or half-fisherman knots. Here's some strength figures. Lord knows where they came from.
  22. The trip to JTree is coming together. I've been approached by several different folks. Not everyone can stay for the same period of time, but what we should do is establish at cc.com camp at Hidden Valley and just converge on that point for partners, etc. I've heard so far from Knotzen, Roboboy, BCollins, JHamaker, Fenderfour and TCampbell.
  23. One wonders whether it might be possible to "condition" the descent route down CJ Couloir short of explosives. Perhaps one could send down a big snowball?
