I usually get way more information from the newspaper than the 15 second tv sound bites. For instance, the write up on the stranded hood climbers was good. So I'll be interested to see what the morning edition brings...

Just saw the local news here in Portland (KATU) and while the avalanche was the lead story, they didn't have much real information either. Oh and the family that was lost for two days near Mt. st. Helens has been found.

oh and what I've experienced is that despite the low levels of snow (compared to last year) I am having a banner year skiing - one of my best - both XC and downhill. It's just all starting to click for me. So I'm just trying to stay as high as I can!
