  1. How is it exactly that a community can go about dissolving it's police force? There's a law someone ought to check into.
  2. That was f'n "A" hard... I was a wus and only lowered about halfway down to just where the thing was detached about 4-5 feet from the rock behind it. It would go on lead, but your pro would be pretty shitty. It gets a lot of sun with it's south-eastern exposure.
  3. Nice WI1+, looks pretty sick Nice report
  4. Hey, if it pays the bills
  5. There's another article headed to Alpinist from another notable NW author that details the FA of the NE Butt. It also is very gut wrenching in the descriptions of the scene.
  6. That would be nice, only I have to act in a independant film this evening.
  7. another day of livin' I just want to celebrate another day of life.
  8. I have an older gent who keeps prying me for partners. Of course, you would have to drive to whole way there and back (unless you are a truly brave soul), be able to yell for long periods of time, and know "HOWZ DA WEDDER". You would have to provide (or be) the rope gun too.
  9. I would say that in most cases setting up a z-pulley would be for a last resort. The fallen climber should be able to extract themselves via prussiking. There are all sorts of issues with the rope cutting through the lip of the crevasse that you have to consider as well. Usually one end of the rope will be lowered to the fallen climber so that the peeps at the top can protect against this occurring.
  10. Dude, schweet on you for getting after it. I wish I could join you again this weekend. Go get some
  11. I believe the answer is surprisingly no. Someone would have to back me up on that, but I think I saw it on Legally Speaking with Robert Mak one night.
  12. You both have it wrong. CBS you should be doing this that weekend It's okay though, if you're getting out, more power to you.
  13. Hey, where's Part II.
  14. fececious = tasty brown coils
  15. You should see him do a figure-four. Pretty f'n sick
  16. I'm doing my part. I haven't cut my lawn for at least six months. I know there's a few trees growning in there somewhere.
  17. Wow! Know I suck at spelling too.
  18. For some reason, I started wondering before I clicked on the link whether or not it would be safe for work
  19. Dude, we need to go drytool'n!! Kinda silly considering there's all that ice out there. Suppose to be cold this weekend starting on Friday evening. Hope it don't all fall down
  20. Positive mojo from Seattle coming down to our fellow PDXr's. Hang in there guys
  21. We drove by you guys racking up for TF on Friday afternoon. We hit that an hour or two before you guys and did a lot of driving afterwards to see what else was in.
  22. Yeah right! I'm a 'miniwanker' remember Champagne was dripping pretty hard on the back of the pillar, but the ice was still in great conditions. Thanks for the pick holes guys  Both very cool routes
  23. So, supposedly if we nuked Iran back "into the stone age" it would cause temperatures to plummet by several degrees average. That could have the beneficial side-effect of extending the ice climbing season for at least another two weeks around here http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16155639/page/2/
  24. Can we get this moved to the Events Forum??
