  1. What can we do to help? What is the drawback to them closing these areas? Would this mean that access would be closed as well (gated roads)?
  2. Puts a whole new definition to the term... http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/medicalnews.php?newsid=37846
  3. I was thinking more of a direct traverse starting from the CNR across to McClellan Peak, rather than skipping over to Prussik. There's a sweet pic in the brown Beckey that basically shows the whole route across two pages.
  4. I know a few CCer's who I've tried to convince going out with him for a day just for the experience. At least for me, it's strange to see someone refuse this while at the same time others are just aching to get a chance. Fred is an inspiration not just for climbers, but for elderly outdoor enthusiasts around the world. He's 84 on the 14th by the way....Where's the party???
  5. As a side note, where the hell was the ice in the January issue of Rock and Ice. WTF!!!
  6. I think no matter how you put it, both rock climbing and ice climbing have evolve since the times when Pope and Raindawg were first climbing. Yes, you must give them credit for leading ice on teradactyl's and foot fangs, but yes, things have evolve since those times. Comparing then to now, the equipment has obviously made what was the cutting edge back then, nearly moderate classics now. Look at such climbs as Bridalveil Falls done by Jeff Lowe and Mike Weiss back in 1974.
  7. Big Rig = Umbilical
  8. Make more sense to just eliminate H-o-w-i-t-t than the word D-a-n. There's a lot of D-a-n's out there.
  9. Definately a Canadian invention. Amazing the guy remembered to use a helmet
  10. Think about the Stuart Range and Peter Croft....do some research and contemplate a repeat. In a day would be sick
  11. Parked up by Gold Creek over the weekend, no Snow-Park (pronounced: rape me permit) pass, no ticket. You make the call.
  12. Nice TR. I'm loving these futuristic reports. Sounds like the skiing up there would be off the hook.
  13. I thought this was another Poop thread....carry on!!
  14. None the less, John is no Plenipotentiary for ice climbing, but I do give him respect for getting out more than most on this here intreweb incarnation of a camp fire.
  15. Happy Birthday Dude!! Don't blow anything up that you aren't allowed to today
  16. Fred rate's his driveway as 5.7...
  17. Imelda Marcos, there's no "E" in Imelda. And I'm sure John does have her beat on the number of things he has that fit on your feet.
  18. I hate that place and I know a few climbers from there(or they used to climb the wankers). Black Diamond is the worst town in Washington. I can't wait until that place is finally paved over and the coal piles burned in celebration.
  19. I gave up asking you anymore. You outta come over and bring it and we can have some beers and go through some stokey
  20. The bug's are in the Cascades right??
  21. McTech, NE Butt, B-C
  22. Wow, $146 a month for parking? Is that downtown?? Do they have more stalls available?? I don't mind wearing my hiking boots to work
  23. I don't see any problem with it. More likely to get killed driving to the crag than injured climbing well below your level.
  24. Come on, would you respond to Kevbone if he PM'd you??
  25. Ask MattP, I heard once that he met a guy from there...
