  17. I did the Coleman-Deming as my first climb in preparation for Rainier. There's a great slope below the normal camping area where you can pratice arrest and at least simulate crevasse rescue. My two cents.
  18. I was thinking about naming a route "ass to mouth". So, I should expect to see a route called "Kevbone" soon. I don't understand??
  19. I guess, who are we to say that they need our money or schools and what not. Just because people in Nepal don't drive a SUV, have a morning latte, and a constantly ringing cellphone, doesn't mean they need OUR help. Their civilization has fared a lot longer than ours and looking ahead to the future I imagine it lasting much longer than ours. Maybe I missed a CNN, or MSNBC report or something recently, but the last I checked it was the continent of Africa where most of the food shortages and human rights abuses were taking place. Maybe you could help out there? Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about?
  20. I can't speak from experience but I doubt that K2 basecamp is much cleaner than Everest. At least there has been a dedicated effort from the Nepali government in recent years to clean up the Khumbu valley. When a region depends on tourism to survive it is only a matter of time before the locals figure out that trash hurts their economy. People bring trash and the only reason we don't deal with trash issues on the local level (on the scale of what you see in the third world) is because we have money and can afford to enforce violations. But the Pakistani government provides incentive for cleaning up after yourselves in the form of a $5000 deposit. If you leave your crap up there, you don't get it back
  21. If by smarter, you mean dumber, and by pimp you mean not cool.
