  1. $8.25 for computer work? HAHAHA. Morons...
  2. Check out weights, that makes a big difference in the BC. You are going up 10x more than down.
  3. Exactly what I am saying. And, AFAIK, climzalot is right, it's everything for RMI and Emmons for the rest.
  4. Though I have not been, the redoubt/spickard/rahm area sounds quite remote.
  5. fuck you too mtnfreak. How can you consider multiple guide services fighting for one route while RMI can guide on the entire rest of the mountain fair? They got a hookup, and now it's better off to get rid of that favor and allow some competition.
  6. Does claiming "mission accomplished" then saying "we have a lot more work to do" after another 600 dudes get killed count as flip-flopping too? THe flip-flopping thing is so stupid. Political motivations, opinions, etc. change just as the issues do. Go spend some time and I'm sure you could find just as many examples of your stupid "flip flopping" with Bush or any other politician.
  7. Yeah, I can't see this thing being even a remotely good idea.
  8. mr. radon's post doesn't even deserve a response. On the tim eyman note, I agree with cj in the fact that Tim relied on the lack of brain power possessed by the majority of this state's voters. Now of course there is nothing wrong with that as Greg pointed out. I still think Eyman is a fucking deuchbag tho. Our state was the only financilly solvent one in the union until that stupid car tax thing came along. The most ridiculous thing was Eyman convinced those who can't afford nice cars that saving $100 or $200 would be worth it, while the real motivation was to get rid of the grand or more than people had to pay on luxury cars. Quite ironically, it was a flat tax, the same shit republicans claim is fair, unbiased, and the way to a complete utopia.
  9. Fuck RMI.
  10. I find the picture quality very good. It is on par with the Canon S500 that I owned for 2 weeks prior to the Sony. Everything else about the Sony was better than the Canon to boot. Obviously compared to my D100 SLR the pictures aren't as good, but for that size I think they are among the best. Not certain about the cold weather issue since I've only had the Camera since July. You can shut it off to save batteries but I can't say whether the screen can actually become damaged.
  11. On a side note...why do all the republicans that vote R for financial reasons do that? Since LBJ democratic presidential economies have performed over twice as well. Further, the best economic growth is seen under D presidents and D houses. R+R results in teh weakest growth.
  12. I'm too lazu tp read this thread but the sony W1 is the best climbing camera I have found. 5mp. 3x zoon, huge LCD which is good for framing pictures with camera at arm length as is common while belaying.

yes cause it's our "liberal asses" that are fucking blind. Unlike the stupid fucking republican platform which wont fucking talk about anything but 9/11 or terrorism. Shut the fuck up about that shit and tell me how you are gonna fix this country. fuckers.

    Hurricane Ivan

Hurricanss...now that is the shit. Man, seriously, force of nature and all that. Talk about fucking some shit up. All I gotta say is going to the hospital when your friend fights is ucks. suck that is.
  15. I will again point out that despite the fact that I hafe had a lot to drink that snowmobiles fucking suck. fuck their drinks, fuck them, fuck their drivers. they fucking ruin shit for everybody eslsed. it's time we start taking some account for that bad shit we are doign to this planet. honestly there are plenty of fun ways to have fun without have ing a bunch of stupid rednecks drive snowmobiles all day. fuck em. fuck em up, fuck em up, go CU!!!!
  16. fuck snowmobiles. I met the guys doing the pollution study for the NPS a couple of years ago. It was a team of about 12 scientists if I recall. According to them the pollution but LA on a bad day to shame.
  17. Yes, not taxing groceries makes since but there is a wide range of things that lower income people need that are taxed. The fact is the sales tax system is completely regressive. The less money you make, the greater % you pay in taxes. The bottom ranks of the income scale don't contribute a great portion of the tax base as it is and changing their % of income spent on essentials from 95% to 75% (I have no clue what real numbers would be) makes a huge difference to them.
  18. I used to think a sales tax is good, but the simple fact is it hurts the people who have the hardest time even more. The right likes to look at it as "the people who make more have to pay more." The other way to look at it is those who have it the worst off get a break. The economy is built on the factory workers, laborors, mechanics, etc.etc. etc. These aren't people who make a great deal of money, but they are the people who make the rich richer. Giving them a break is not only the right thing to do, but it's good for all of us, rich or poor.
  19. Bushwhacker, should we sit around for another 40 years waiting for more "proof" or should we start to do something about the problem that 99% of scientists think we are the source of? I choose a proactive approach.

    My Deal...

That's weak, dude. Making fun of somebody for doing something that they take personal satisfaction in just makes you look small, not them. Sure, I'm not personally a fan of hauling tons of shit up something, but I'd rather see a couple of folks having fun doing that than feeling they aren't good enough for somebody else's standards. My friend guided a group of breast cancer survivors up mount baker this summer. As a guided climb they obviously took lots of stuff and went slow. I bet summiting Baker meant the world to some of them. I know where you you're coming from, cause I've been quick to toss shit about how other people have been doing stuff, even if in jest. I just try to remind myself that if they aren't doing me harm, then their reason for being there is just as good to them as my reason is to me.

it has nothing to do with defending getting anyones guy elected, it's a matter of the 12th amendment in that pesky US constitution that many seem to hold so dear, whether or not it gets their guy elected. it's not an issue of bias. nice try tho... Yes, cause the country is exactly like it was when the 12th amendment was added. Times change. The fact is we are a nation now, not a grouping of states. It should be up to the PEOPLE to elect our president not the STATES.

Well said, Jim. Lars, it's easy to understand. Look at the 2000 election. 500,000 people had their votes dismissed by 127 (or whatever the hell it was) in Florida. Why should half a million people's vote get essentially nullified by a few poeple in one close state? One person...one vote...no matter what state. Popular vote is way more fair. If you want to defend the electoral college simply because it got your guy elected (well...that and some tampering) in 2000, than at least fess up and admit your bias.

The electoral college needs to go. The fact that a few people in a small state can have more influence than millions in a populated state is silly.
  25. pfft...it's all about the crampons and heather axe
