Whatever it is, if it can't be sent while taking bong rips, it's likely not worth the effort.

Yeah, when you get one of those big cowbell hexes wedged in a solidnplacement, it gives a good vibe.

This is awesome, Lowell! Truly great work...

Who the fuck steals a catalytic converter??? That's some serious ghetto-theft.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Dallas, but like anybody who has climbed more than once in the PNW, I knew his name well. This was very sad news to read, but I suppose some solace comes in knowing what a full life this man led, and it is evident he inspired many. R.I.P. Dallas

Never saw this the first time, so good bump, and good update. P.S. Big ups for good microbrews in cans. That Dale's Pale is tasty, as is their Scotch Ale. I'll have to check out Whole Foods for that Oregonian one in a can. P.P.S. Good to see booze isn't exempted from Dru's list of things he'll spew about and insult Americans about despite not knowing jack shit!

He has a thread in his honor, and you don't, so apparently he really *is* that cool.

I can vouch for boredom/under-busy being a powerful motivator to feed the addiction. I think I have had more posts in the past few days than the past several years combined.

You didn't support Iraq 1.0 either. But you did support Bubba's military (mis)adventure's, I'm sure. Unless I am mistaken and you were still in diapers then, which is a strong possibility. Bullshite. I supported the first Iraq war. I remember having a spirited debate about it in my sunday school classes. In fact, I wish we had finished the job when we could have. I'm also willing to admit Bubba had his share of misadventures. Inability to look at the past and admit a fuckup is a mental handicap you posses, not me.

"Shock and Awe" and "Mission Accomplished" ... two memorably dumb Iraq 2.0 war moments. Whatever happened to the "information minister" of Iraq? He was definitely the highlight of that debacle.

I maintain that almost all the liberal attacks against Iraq were just based out of a hatred of Mr. Bush. The rhetoric was (and still is) ridiculously one-sided and shrill. Going to war is extremely controversial and its execution messy. I could see why we went, and see why people opposed it. In the end I am going to support my country as much as possible. We are still in Afghanistan. I can support that, but really, I have my doubts there as well. We've been there what 8 years now? We fucking took out Imperial Japan and the Nazis in 4, and rebuilt Europe in that time. But I can support our goals and president without being a "cheerleader". Going to war in Iraq was a mistake regardless of who was in charge. But obviously it was pretty much BushCo's personal project, so you are correct, separating the distaste for the two is difficult. If you honestly believe going to war in Iraq was still a good idea it either means a.) you believe there were WMDs or b.) Iraq was involved in 9/11. Both of these have been proven false beyond any shadow of a doubt. It has nothing to do with "supporting your country." The best thing for our country would have been not going. You were supporting a lying president on a stupid ill guided mission, not our country. You were doing our country harm supporting that shit. Get it straight. As for the comparison between either Iraq/Afghanistan and WWII, there is a huge difference between trying to surgically remove a particular element of a society (e.g. Sadaam or the Taliban) and obliterating a country militarily, such as with Japan and Germany. If all we had to do was beat the entire country into submission we could have done that in a day.

you are part of the systematic problem, dumbass Is it fun being a mental midget?
-
The nice thing is we can continue to do shit like go skiing, hiking, climbing, driving, whatever, as long as we address the problem on a systematic scale. Denying the existence of reality altogether, on the other hand, is a problem.

What about a tax only on Jeff Bezos?

11 pages and counting, and it seems the takeaway from this thread is most of us can agree on two things: 1.) legalize drugs 2.) shrink the shitty police force Can we stamp this and sign it in to law now?

You mean a cost of living increase? Wasn't inflation last year like 2.6%? Just realize that if you are suggesting no increase at all, it's identical to suggesting a pay decrease.
-
Considering the grand total of 3 times I've called the Seattle PD when I have needed them they simply decided to not show up, combined with the large number of times they have showed up when not needed, I'm going to say they are overpaid as is. Seattle Police Department, you fucking suck arse.

I ran across a fucktard the other day that was spouting off the cool PNW summer as evidence that global warming was BS. Exactly how fucking stupid must one be to ignore the rest of the globe when coming up with this brilliant reasoning? The only part I am not looking forward to about the upcoming good (hopefully) ski season is the occasional dipshit that will view this as evidence that they were right about the massive global conspiracy against right thinking Palin loving v8 SUV driving americans.

Highest bidder? I think you mean lowest. We only turn vital services over to whoever is the cheapest. According to Comrade Prole, the interstate highway system is useless anyways. I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess picking up on sarcasm was never your strong suit?
-
Let's sell the interstate highway system to the highest bidder. I'm getting pretty sick of subsidizing semi-drivers and we don't really need it to truck our nukes around anymore. What say you, JayB?

Right place, right time, lots of luck, hires the right people, who knows? I didn't dispute the success, simply said it amazes me somebody who says so much stupid shit has made billions. Maybe he is the Forrest Gump of Tech CEOs? Very much agreed on the PHDs, etc who couldn't manage a Taco Bell though...definitely not the same skill set.

The problem with putting the nice dumb guy in charge is there is nobody to tell him things like this are completely idiotic and should be best kept to himself...

LOL!! I think the model rocket I bought for $50 back in middle school got further off the ground than that. He probably should have just spent his money buying something off the shelf from Boeing. After all, he got a degree in CS and EE, then immediately went to work as a financial analyst...1 year before the '87 stock crash.
