  1. the onion rules.
  2. Bastards... I love it how we can't be trusted to use sound judgement, but the slednecks can.
  3. I have a 50m x 9mm for glacier, 60m x 9.4 for alpine and 60m x 10.5 for cragging, etc. This is a good combo for me, of course it defeats the whole "one rope for all purposes" point of this thread.
  4. Who cares how shitty the weather on mount washington is, there is a trail to the top, a weather station and the east isn't very scenic. Thanks, i'll take the pleasent weathered cascades any time!
  5. They don't clear most the forest roads, they just wait until they melt out. Hmmm...I wonder how much a snowplow attachment for my car would cost?
  6. So somebody mentioned the road going up to the 8 mile and stuart/colchuck lake trailheads is gated now? WTF? It wasn't gated before when it was snow covered. How much sense does that make?
  7. So is that helicopter still lying, mangled up, on the carbon?
  8. it looks like choss. rock snob.
  9. I really doubt the Chiwawa River road is open. THat area gets more snow then you would think. I called about it 2 weeks ago or so and they said it was still fully open for snowmobile use. It's too bad too, the entiat range s.

    Hardcore!

brrrrrr... man, that's gotta be chilly getting out of there. I hope they keep that hut nice and warm. It would really suck to have to use the secondary hole.
  12. Lambone called it right, you have to decide what you are going to be using the bag for the most and see what manufactuer makes the best bag for those needs. My WInter bag is a FF model w/ epic fabric. It's awesome. My summer bag is a WM ultralight (whatever their 16oz model) is and I love that too. I went with who I thought had the better bag for those particularly uses. The cool thing about FF (maybe WM does this too?) is they'll pretty much make whatever you want them to make if you are willing to pay. -josh
  13. yes they are better tools for burning calories and testing the breathability of jackets and stuff. LOL. Yes, for the most part. THere have been a few scattered times, however, where I've wanted to go short distances through thick forests or up steeper terrain and haven't wanted to wear my touring boots. Approachs for ice climbs are a good example. If the snow is too deep to posthole, sometimes showshoes have worked better for me.
  14. Charlie, the climber's left side of aasgard pass is deceptively more dangerous that it looks in that picture. the upper left part is quite steep and has been loaded before when I have traveled up the pass and found the center safer. The tree coverage on that pass is so sparse that it offers very little terrain anchoring.
  15. Yeah, snowshoes suck, and I ski when I can but there are still things that snowshoes do better.

    Arrghh!

Relax, the poor guy is probably just overwhelmed with anticipation of leaving the hellhole of the flatlands. He is also dillusional thinking every weekend is going to be good weather for him.

    music these days...

Erik, unfortunately the gym I workout plays about the shittiest music possible. When I'm working out with my roomate, I don't use my headphones, and I pay the ultimate price for it. If you haven't heard it, you are lucky.
  18. John Mayer (sp?) sucks, and they play that crap constantly. The "your body is a disneyland" or some such shit song is the worst. Please discuss.
  19. I excavated about half the snow depth off the bridge last year. It's a good way to stay warm while waiting for a partner
  20. Yes, getting turns all year around here is easy. The thing is come august and september I can find a hellavu lot better things to do with my spare summer days than ski shitty snow littered with rocks and suncups.
  21. OK, I just went to that fish product's web site. WTF is up with the first picture on this page!?? http://www.fishproducts.com/catalog/productlinefs.html
  22. Cracked, you haven't lived until you have had an epic. You should try it sometime. I suggest Whitehorse, for starters. When I tell people I want to fail, they look at me like I'm crazy. Maybe if I go for the Eve Dearborn Memorial or Girth Pillar I'll fail. Who'll go with me? Cracked, I'm down to fail. Let's go take a shot at something nasty and shiver our asses through an unplanned bivy!
  23. The fucking RIAA suck ass. I fully ecourage anybody and everybody to do whatever possible to fuck these jackasses over.
  24. Relax guys, give it a few decades, and BC will be ours anyway, along with the rest of canada sans quebec.
  25. I think ben harper has always sucked, personally.
