I've had two brushes with people opening the driver door, and I know I'm going to get clotheslined one of these days. Damn rail! I'm going to fall into that thing one of these days. They were kind enough to put up a dramatic warning sign with a biker making like superman over the bars. Kind!
8. snafflehound souffle
9. Climber report says bring a high tolerance of risk. It's in late-season condition and there is serious rockfall hazard.
10. carry some cake frosting. if you don't use it you can chug it after the climb.
11. There's a monster trundler balancing up on the east lateral moraine of White River Glacier on Hood. Someone should go up there and sneeze.

I spend a lot of time biking to work and I'm all for cyclists' rights, but I get pissed by the guys who screw the rules of the road or who intentionally look for conflict when riding. Case in point, I passed a bike in the bike lane and had to take a right turn. The second I turn on the right blinker, the guy speeds up to make sure if I don't check my blind spot he's gonna wipe into my side door. Of course I saw him since I've been in that spot many times before as a biker (and even waited for his sorry ass to catch back up and pass me) but he still gave the menacing "don't even think about it" stare. decked out in a f'ing mickey mouse lycra jersey, to top it off, and making like he's on the last turn of the Champs-Elysees.
14. Is there any chance BD will ever make a straight tool again rather than all this modern art curvy bullshit? Whatever happened to the prophets?
15. I call bullshit on your sooby pic. There's no FREE TIBET on the bumper and a spacecase is not present.

17. Alan Kane has a good scrambling guide to the rockies (not sure if you were looking for purely roped climbing). His website has some info as well. http://peakbagger.tripod.com/index.html
18. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SK
19. Wound up at R.B. w/ Mr. MtnHigh on Sunday. Fun was had by all. Thanks for the offer sk, hope it was good down in the gorge. Probably got a view of the fires up north. [ 07-14-2002, 10:49 PM: Message edited by: iain ]
20. South Sister via Green Lakes. My dad dragged me in there many years ago and I was totally hooked. I couldn't stop staring at the mountain on the drive away from the TH down Cascade Lakes Highway. Green Lakes is still a special place for me because of it. Nice topic. -Iain
21. At the risk of being caught here on a weekend... Good spot I found down on Portland's waterfront...maybe you could check in with this gal:
22. that would be punctuation, not pronunciation.
23. if only that were still possible at the fair. some of my best memories are the parts I don't remember. all I _do_ remember are brownies and milk in the morning, then nothing else but bongos, silver people, and naked chicks
24. ah the fair, how sad. I have some great memories of the fair but it hurts me to go there anymore. it's only a shell of it's former self.
25. Free-air freezing's up around 15k! So I'll be tooling around Rocky Butte this weekend in the shade, like a horsecock-less snafflehound. Anyone who wants to come hang out w/ this gaper in the poison oak is welcome. I drive a green toyota truck w/ camper if you head out there. Or drop me a line. Could be coaxed to Smith, but it's forecast over 100° in Redmond. And I am so suck on sport rock. And believe it or not, b-rock, I'll actually be there! -Iain
