  1. you can clip ahead of tough stuff so you can work it out on top rope. another source of mockery for some.
  2. and how many times have you been to smith? are you wisely denying knowledge of the clipstick on this site? clips first bolt to avoid elvis style to first bolt. frequent source of mockery.
  3. nonsense would you autograph my clipstick?
  4. well no kidding you registered this month

  6. Sorry I couldn't make it. I was talked into a few days at Tieton. If you have not been there it is eggselent.
  7. Just to throw in some positive stuff about climbing clubs, considering the negative stuff here previously. I was at Tieton with some friends this weekend, and came across a WAC trad leading class. There were many people there, but they were very gracious in giving up routes so that we could climb where we liked. They continually asked if their ropes were in our way. We were very pleased to see this. If you are reading this stuff, thanks WAC. I think we both had a great weekend because of this.
  8. careful, you might see timm@y's bait and tackle on that camera. anyone know a good epoxy for patching up skis? I have some tuas with a torn-up topsheet (what a surprise) and I don't want to buy new ones.
  9. what do you mean it's a nissan. country boys get shot for that.

    Riggers

I don't quite see the point of this thread. Maybe I missed something.
  12. carry a small screw on your harness on wet glacier. you can unweight the line if you pitch in and your partner is having trouble holding you by cranking the screw into the crevasse wall, which will always be ice. gives your partner time to set some good pickets rather than desperate ones. don't try to do the Twight action suit thing if your partners are not also doing it.

quote: Originally posted by Lambone: Why not, Scott works with child abuse victims, my sister is mentaly ill and has participated in the special olimpics. I think our feelings toward the sarcastic "jokes" were probably a bit similar. I didn't mean from the receiving end, I meant from the delivering end. I've come to view DFA as a fairly sarcastic fellow, and someone who genuinely doesn't represent anyone who would actually kick _anything_ in the teeth. He even appears downright sensitive at times (worried about sounding like texplorita here). The other guy who posted the special olympics stuff was genuine in his intentions to ridicule (which was deplorable, to say the least). My father works with abused children and I have been around many of them and seen some genuine tragedies. I caught DFA's intentions and I was not offended because I understood where he was coming from, that's all.
  18. quote: Originally posted by Dr Flash Amazing: DFA's favorite truck is his new Subaru Legacy wagon. So far it's proved itself strong in the passing lane through the mountains, and good for hauling a bunch of lumber from Home Depot. Better gas mileage and ride than the truck, too. Subeage! And such convenient access for those nogoodnics at Smith with the master keys

  20. toyota 4wd is woefully underpowered, even the v6. the 4-cylinder engine, however, is legendary. I have a tacoma and love it
