Wouldn't it be cool if in some weird twist of Fate, Wesley Clark makes up with the Republican Party and joins the Bush campaign as his vice president? That would be really cool in a Hollywood sort of way, something like the X-Men where Clark morphs right in front of the analytical eye of media, if seeing is believing then you have to believe it. And, now this is the kicker, we accept it as perfectly normal. Consistency in character is no longer required as a prerequisite for the job of executive figurehead. Or, if once Clark is elected, he pulls off his facemask to reveal a Republican. You know, kind of like one of those dirty tricks the Communists are so well known to pull, like when Fidel Castro came into power and he declared that he had always been a communist and always will be. Instead, in this case, Clark reveals he has always been in essence a Republican, only wearing Democratic clothes to appear acceptable. All that stuff about keeping abortion legal, etc. etc., to appease the Dorito-eating public—if Schwarzenegger can do it in Californi—then, yeah, one more time! If Election 2000 was weird and surreal then Election 2004 will keep you glued to the news feed. Coffee

Perhaps. But you could be overly conservative with respect to the accelerating pace of technological breakthrough and pessimistic with regards to nuclear annihilation. Leave it to the Canadians to suggest other ways of addressing the energy issue.

UW-Madison nuclear engineering Professor and Director of the Fusion Technology Institute Gerald Kulcinski and Fusion Technology Institute Professor John Santarius said the rocks on the moon hold helium-3, an energy source approximately 1 million times more powerful than coal. Under their plan, astronauts would fill a space shuttle with canisters full of the rock. Because the helium-3 exists only on first few feet of the moon's surface, it would need to be gathered horizontally over the moon's exterior. One cargo supply would provide the United States with all the electricity it needs for a year, according to the scientists. They predict the moon has enough energy to last the U.S. over 1,000 years. Additionally, the endeavour would be environmentally friendly as it creates no greenhouse emissions. Because President Bush is currently considering contructing a lunar base, Kulcinski and Santarius said using the moon as an energy source may be a serious possibility. --source above

Doesn't it sound much better when you say: "That is closer to the truth, IMHO." The meaning stays the same but there is no subconscious trigger for its opposite meaning.

Have you not heard of that madman who lit a lantern in the bright morning hours, ran to the market-place, and cried incessantly: "I am looking for Trask! I am looking for Trask!" As many of those who did not believe in Trask were standing together there, he excited considerable laughter. Have you lost him, then? said one. Did he lose his way like a child? said another. Or is he hiding? Is he afraid of us? Has he gone on a voyage? or emigrated? Thus they shouted and laughed. The madman sprang into their midst and pierced them with his glances. "Where has Trask gone?" he cried. "I shall tell you. We have killed him - you and I. We are his murderers. But how have we done this? How were we able to drink up the sea? Who gave us the sponge to wipe away the entire horizon? What did we do when we unchained the earth from its sun? Whither is it moving now? Whither are we moving now? Away from all suns? Are we not perpetually falling? Backward, sideward, forward, in all directions? Is there any up or down left? Are we not straying as through an infinite nothing? Do we not feel the breath of empty space? Has it not become colder? Is it not more and more night coming on all the time? Must not lanterns be lit in the morning? Do we not hear anything yet of the noise of the gravediggers who are burying Trask? Do we not smell anything yet of Trask's decomposition? Avatars too decompose. Trask is dead. Trask remains dead. And we have killed him. How shall we, murderers of all murderers, console ourselves? That which was the holiest and mightiest of all that the world has yet possessed has bled to death under our knives. Who will wipe this blood off us? With what water could we purify ourselves? What festivals of atonement, what sacred games shall we need to invent? Is not the greatness of this deed too great for us? Must we not ourselves become sprayers simply to be worthy of it? There has never been a greater deed; and whosoever shall be born after us - for the sake of this deed he shall be part of a higher history than all history hitherto." --modification of Nietzsche

Objectivity is an illusion. All media and by extension, all news, is a tool for manufactured consent. The other day I heard someone remark that we have a one party system consisting of two factions, Republican and Democrat. "The business of America is business."--Calvin Coolidge

Ya, I heard it is the year of the 'golden' monkey, whatever that means, something to do with money? I was born in the year of the dragon. Weird how Western astrology is based on a cycle of 12 months, each having a different zodiac sign, while Eastern astrology is based on cycle of 12 years. Good luck to all ya monkeys out there, maybe a good climbing year huh?

"Chris Kemp, 37, was found inside a Gresham man's home wearing the resident's mother's clothing and playing music last Friday night. To be specific, Kemp was wearing Carlos Castillo's mother's leopard-skin hat and matching scarf. Castillo confronted the alarmingly large-foreheaded intruder, who then returned money he'd stolen and agreed to wait for the police to arrive." Will the real Beavis please stand up? "As for the ... mug shot taken by the Multnomah County Sheriff, no, the image has not been manipulated to make Kemp resemble a light bulb or balloon. And he apparently got those forehead scratches during an earlier encounter with some sort of brier patch, details of which TSG has not uncovered."

Notice how this 'lady' has the presence of mind to keep her hair out of the projectile puking. Also, the wide legged stance to prevent splatter on her army boots. Damn, she looks sexy in black.
