  1. Ask anyone, it's simply the way I climb!
  2. I concur with Will. The angle of the slope is right around 40-45*, but I've seen plenty of folks tied in.
  3. I love the sheepshank, it was the first "real" knot I ever learned how to tie. Oddly enough I learned it from a sailor. We used it for tying off loads of hay...oh the memories...
  4. A couple of things that bug me about public bathrooms: 1) I'm in the bathroom to use it not strike up a conversation and meet people. 2) Bathrooms that have dryers for your hands instead of towels. I don't want to touch the handle on the door of those who haven't washed their hands. (psycological or not) ...just to name a few
  5. Don't forget Dog Mtn, also in the Gorge, but on the Washington side.
  6. What hell are those two on the right doing???? I don't think you learn that in a Mounties class!
  7. Now that is some funny shit....freaky, but funny
  8. I wonder if he had been spending time in one of those oxygen tents....naaah, prolly was the drugs
  9. After all the controversy that he had been through, his career seemed on the brink of a major turn around. I can only think of a few other cyclist that could animate a race like the pirate. Sad indeed
  10. Some pretty stupid ones in college, but the “CC” that stands out most was a couple of years ago on my first summit on Rainier. My partner and I had climbed Gib Ledges and were making our way back down from the summit. At the upper entrance to the ledges the snow had gotten very soft and slushy making each step a bit of a slide fest. I had just put my left foot down and was preparing to put my right foot down when my left slid about a foot throwing me off balance. As I caught myself, I didn’t realize that the front points of my right foot had speared into the bail of my left foot, when I tried to take another step all I managed to do was fall forward in what must have appeared to be the one of the goofiest summersaults ever attempted. The slope was so steep that I managed to complete the entire flip and land squarely on my ass like I was sitting down and taking a break. After the fear sweat subsided we continued our rather uneventful descent to Muir, where I made a beeline straight to the crapper to empty my severely watery bowels.
  11. I can't wait until Tilly Jane. If Pete's was any indication of what's gonna go on at the Tilly, wooof-inghoo!
  12. I’d like to start things off by thanking Steve for what will eventually be one hellacious hangover, but since, I’m currently still drunk (and I went home early) I don’t have to think about the headache or nausea that is sure to follow. It was good seeing everyone, thanks for the house Pete.
  13. Shuksan, After you log on, go to the main index and there is a new heading called "events" its in there. Thanks for the info
  14. RBW, any idea how long ago that article was written?
  15. My current and constant rotation: Metallica Saliva Tool Lincoln Park and many, many more!
  16. what time are the festivities getting underway??
  17. Will, They are hoping to get some pictures today, but I don't think they have the technology. My attachment is the foot print of the building and it's labeled the best I can figure for what I've been told. 300575-jobsite.pdf
  18. Pete, Ya gonna have Valet for this thing or what??
  19. From what my guys tell me, that's the one. they wont be moving the scaffolding any time soon because there is a problem with the structural steel on that elevation, which means my crew can't install the windows which bolt to the steel. I think the contractor and the COE would be fine with a scaffolding FA as long as you met all the OSHA requirements.
  20. Just ate a Snickers Marathon bar. Side by side to say a Cliff bar the nutrition measures out fairly close, a few items are a little skewed, but nothing too outrageous. I give it 2 thumbs up for the initial "behind the desk test" I'll see how it fares on the next "on the bike" test. damn...wish I had another one...yummmmmy
  21. I'm sooo there!
  22. Maybe but doubtful, these guys are construction workers, not rocket scientists
  23. Hey Will, If you can get over to Ft. Wainwright my project manager says that they have a two story ice curtain that has formed on some scaffolding that you can climb. Prolly only rated WI2 cause if you get tired or sketched you can always step off into the scaffolding. Apparently the scaffolding sits right next to some type of steam plant and over the course of the winter it has just continued to build up on this thing. He says it's solid from top to bottom...what would you call that? Ice-buildering?
  24. I want an energy bar that doesn't taste like sawdust during a long day out. I believe that I have tried most if not all that are currently on the market: Cliff bar, Power bar, Odwalla...etc. Some of the flavors are OK, but none of them are moist enough. When I am out on a day trip, whether it be climbing or biking, I can eat them fine, but when I'm doing a huge single day push or 100 mile ride I just can't choke those damn things down. My body is already dehydrated from the exertion and needs all the help it can get and no matter how much water I drink with the thing it just doesn't go down any easier. Anybody have any ideas that work (gels only work for so long before my body needs a solid source) Maybe I should just stick to &
