i'm pretty positive me n' mike are the only ones to have done FT/FS this season - having to weather local access or reasonable richard make it easy to not set foot on the swallow, FT, the circus, or bss - i'm sure that's the turnoff for most folk, that and the fact that the s side is closed half the godamn year!

good thin ice climbs to the summit are often in by late october/early november - last year i did a very casual walk up the s side the first week of decemeber

cruising at beaocn and snake dike in yos are both 5.7 - i free solo cruising all the time - snake dike was so fuckign scary we bailed only a little way up it

it'd be cool to see someone do a tr for climbing the s side this time of year in a full-on football uniform - helmet, shoulderpads, rib-protectors, padded pants, etc.

there are no good routes on hood this time year, w/ the possible exception of cathedral ridge? wait till late fall, or go rock climb on i-rock.

respectfully disagree. Hopefully you're not having as many near death accidents as in the ANAM. So learning from others mistakes is what it's about. i don't think folks like us who free solo get to humor themselves that we're playing it safe
