  1. Cheers dude. Death threats are the product of a sick mind. Hopefully the mind in question will get some rest and mellow out.

It was 49 in Leavenworth this morning at about 7. Chatter creek is going to be ccccccold at night. Bundle those kiddies up good.

All I know is, I would hate to have to keep going back to pick up the pad.
  4. My power boat is all gassed up. I'm gonna work out those crimper muscles.

I have a teenager who has been sucked into the game boy world in a big way. His mind and body were milktoast for years. Finally, he is into wakeboarding- an outdoor sport that involves exercise. The improvements are noticable on every level. Bouldering or skateboarding or even diving into a mosh pit is far better than zoning out into a gameboy. Your analogy is poorly thought out. But I think I agree with your point. It seems more appropriate to contrast bouldering and alpine climbing than to compare them.

Climbers have been raggin on each other for as long as I can remember and even before. It probably has something to do with egos but who am I to say. When I started white water kayaking around here I was really impressed with how social other boaters were. It was very different from groups of climbers I had run into in the US. I'm glad to see Zeke's getting some attention. There are some good lines up there.

Barney's Rubble is good if it isn't already overrun. Another option might be to have someone take the kids Sat AM, another person Sat Evening (cool weather), Another Sun Am etc. During the heat of the day, we might want to be in the Wenatchee river.

  10. Uh Huh. Let me guess, you didn't do well in creative writing? How about, "Hey I'm interested in some of that gear. Did you buy it new? " Or variations..... Anyway, its only a thought with a little opinion behind it (or visa versa?). Peace dude.
  11. Compared to racking on slings there is no efficient way to exchange gear from harness loops. After many partners over many years, I like to have a rack sling for the leader and the 2nd. When it is time to re-rack, whoever has the least gear on their sling passes it to the leader. This assumes that the second(s) are always racking gear in an organized fashion as they climb. Personal preference sure. But it has been the norm for most long term big wallers and alpine climbers I have climbed with.
  12. Let's string him up now and ask questions later.
  13. Why don't you change you avatar to sphincter!? Actually, my scorn should be directed toward the two who accused this fine citizen of rippin people off without due process. The lynch mob around here is pretty quick to form. How about an inquiring PM before the lynching?

There are a couple more pics up in the Washington State gallery. Two from Chatter Creek and another from the swimming hole on the Wenachee reiver. Definately stop and swim coming or going. There are a lot of great places to hang out.
  15. OK. Now Necro and Rumr have to make up too. Thanks for the entertainment! I would prefer to be belayed by mattp. Same kind of style. Everything changes every time anybody moves. The laws of physics have to be applied with different values in a variety of variables. I have looked a rock in the eye from three inches after a 20 ft fall. Screw the forces. If Kurtmo hadn't reeled, I'd be dead.

Bug and two larvae will show. No DEET please.
  17. or be liebacking, fall, and have the weight of your rack make you fall upside down. i got a bump on my head from just such a fall last week. ouch. (my helmet was being held hostage in a friend's car from a previous outing.) It helps a lot to be heavier than your rack.
  18. N Ridge of Stuart? The snow is going fast or gone.
  19. If you are really going to use those again, I suggest you backtie often!! Yeah. That way you won't forget your rope.
  20. Charge too much. I'll purchase the cams that are left over.
