So you confess belief in Gold's hypothesis that thermophile bacteria cross-contaminated abiotically derived petroleum to indicate a biotic origin due to the artifact presence of those biomarkers?
No, not at all.
The hypothesis I currently support is that most of the fossil fuels in existence derive from the deep biosphere (deep biogenic) rather than the surface biosphere, which is almost the complete reverse of the Russian and Gold theories (deep abiogenic). Since its discovery estimates of the productivity of the deep biosphere have continuously been revised upward. Probably still too low.
