    lesson

what's worse than the tailgaters who just want to go faster than you is the tailgaters who are using you like some kindof seeing-eye dog for night driving 'cause it is easier to follow the taillights in front than keep your eye on the road yourself. I had some fuxxor tailing me with his highbeams on the sea2sky once. In the passing lanes I would pull over right and slow right down to 30km/h and he would just park it right on my bumper and refuse to pass.
  4. there is a potential for the B-52 to fail to lockup in autolocking mode when the brake biner flips a certain way ... I think snoboy could provide more info.
  5. its gonna be cool as i watch through binoculars! the squashed like a bug factor is high on that one. the correct answer would have been Janez! way to go crazy climbers!
  6. they only cost me $100 so I am not going to spend another $20 + waiting time to have a skishop gaper blast a screw right through the base like I have had done before. I have plenty of tools to do the job properly myself (drill press, taps, beer, etc.). Thank you all for your advice, it has been useful and educational.
  7. they aren't tele-specific. "I mounted mine 15mm back from center so I get more tail edge" do you mean that since your boot is farther back on the ski you can pressure the tail edge more?
  8. the skis have a boot center mark but the boots don't ... I still have your template for the CRBs ... just need to know where to put it
  9. so I bought myself a new pair of skeez and now I want to mount my bindings. Pins at chord center they say ... but where's the chord center? ... is it halfway along the top plate of the ski or halfway along a straight line between the tip and the tail or what?... these are twintips.

    rat bastard thieves

someone stole my guidebook from the base of a crag once. I had rigged it with a clip-in loop, so I just wandered around the smoke bluffs asking if anyone had seen somebody with a guidebook clipped to their harness and sure enough I found the dumbasaboxofhair thief and punched him in the nose ... like if you are gonna steal something then at least HIDE it and LEAVE THE VICINITY!
  11. part of your story got clipped!

I recommend the ones that fit your feet. There are various brands/models marketed to women, but those models may not end up being the ones that fit you best. You have to go to the shops and try stuff on. Several makers now include thermal custom fit liners, which is a nice feature.
  17. smash it into more small pieces. make small pieces into keychains. sell keychains for $5 each. buy new cam.
  18. who cares? either climb it (1) or don't (0) ... binary system 5.7 vs 5.8? 5.9 vs 5.10a? gimmeabreak it's the new mackallenium and you're niggling over stuff peeps was soloing in the 1930s!

the HRM idea is interesting. but orthogonal to the goal of simply avoiding multiple-burial situations which for typical weekend recreationalists just should not be that difficult.
  20. 1996 the John Baldwin Backcountry Whistler map has a more detailed topo and route descriptions for Husume buttress.
  21. you can also sit the fuel canister in a pan of water and periodically add more warm water from the pot you are heating. Or use a chemical hand warmer on the bottom of the canister. there was a thread on this before ... do a search.
  22. shouldn't you take this to the NEW MY SAUNA IS HOTTER THAN YOUR SAUNA FORUM
  23. unlike Ron McLean's joke: "Don Cherry is all for French Immersion, he just thinks they don't hold them down long enough"
