  1. He has my vote.
  2. Smoke some pot.
  3. I see trails up the Pratt and Taylor rivers. Anyone hiked them lately? What kind of shape are they in?
  4. Take a close look at the pictures in the link, tread width 12" to 30". Hourses don't like stepping on boulders.
  5. A note about brush, shure it looks like hell at first, give it 5 years and it will be back. If you trim it back just a little it will be back next year and you wont be able to see the trail. Also think about the room needed for horses to pass.
  6. I would love to ride my bike in the wilderness, however, the thrash it would take to make that happen would eat up huge amounts of Forest Service time. I don't think it's a battle worth fighting. The NPS is going to open more areas to MTB. See the IMBA site for details. Until all the user groups see that the pie is much bigger than thier sport we are screwed. We all want more trail, right? I got frustrated with the BBTC 'cause no mater how much I tried no other club members showed up for any Grand Ridge work parties. (This trail will be open to bikes) They more or less cried like Fairwether and wanted to play in thier own sandbox. This makes us look bad.
  7. Pull your heads out of your asses and listen up! I have done many WTA work parties and never got any shit for being a biker. Some of the crew leaders also ride. You clowns are stuck in the 80s. We are building a sick trail on Grand Ridge that will be open to bikes. Oh, and while your heading up to your next climb don't forget who is working on the trails. Check this link for a trip report. http://www.cascadeclimbers.com/threadz/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/490404/an/0/page/1#490404
  8. Well mine was a grade Vlll so top that!
  9. On ODD days. Who's down for a ride next weekend? Be nice to horses and hikers out there, it took 10 years to get this far, we don't need any complaints. http://bbtc.org/home/index.php for info to be posted soon. to the BBTC, WTA, USFS and Friends of the Trail
  10. Good thing it didn't take a shit on you. Seaguls have been known to shit on those who get to close to the nests.
  11. This plan sucks just like Bush.

    Holy. Shit.

    Like the sound track.
  14. Cool!
  15. It's not cheating if everyone does it. Only winners get the big bucks. Beter living through chemistry.
  16. Chavez and Robertson are both nuts. and see who wins.
  17. It would be nice if he did some jail time for that remark. I say send him south, I hear the jails are real nice down there. Don't think it's W's (God's) will tho.
  18. BULLSHIT!
  19. Cool! The MF trail will get some more work in September with a WTA week long trip.
  20. I know this isn't about climbing, but, without good traiils the climbs would be much harder to get to. This is a week long trip, a horse packer brings the food and tools in and out. We met at the Cle Elum ranger station at 8:30 or so on 8/13 and drove to the end of the Cle Elum River Road. After signing in and a snack we headed for Deception Pass, the trail to Marmot Lake heads west along the north side of MT Daniel. The horse packer dropped out gear 1/2 mile short of out campsite so we had to cary the gear the rest of the way. We did a few trips Saturday and some more Sunday morning. Totally worth all the extra work. We camped in a large meadow with a pond under a cliiff. The trail had many boulders, braids and drainage issues. We dug drain dips, popped out boulders, built steps, filled braids, and built a retaining wall. There were a few places where the trail had slid down hill so we dug into the uphill bank to level it out. Also destroyed a few campfire rings. (No fires above 4,000 ft.) We fixed up 1 mile of trail from the pass Marmot Lake. A Forest Service crew cleaned out towards culverts and logged out the trail from our campsite to the lake. The wether was warm and sunny but cold enough at night to keep the bugs down. Good thing, because I took a chance and brought my Megamid tent. The only day of rain was on Wednesday, our day off. We hiked up to Marmot Lake and on to Jade Lake. This area doesn’t get much traffic because the trail is a dead end. This is a great place for those folks who like to wander the high country. The Blue Berries were everywhere and made for some great snacks. With all the berries I though we would see bears but we didn’t evan see any turds. We did see deer, mice and an eagle. This is my second week long trip with the WTA, I did one last year, and I must say it’s a great time. I want to learn how to build trails for mountain biking and this is a great way to do it. Maybe some day we can ride the wilderness...... On the way out we stopped at the Brick in Roslyn for beer and food. The beer on tap we had was only OK and low octane. Their own stuff, some thing dark, I forget the name. A few factoids; It took 9 of us 5 days to fix one mile of trail. One mile of new trail can cost up to $50,000. For more info wta.org If anyone has any old cross cut saws the WTA or Forest Service could put them to good use.
  21. We got up to Dingford Creek in a Saturn. We were going to walk up Big Snow via the Dingford Creek trail but got side traked by swimming in the lakes below the peak. The walk up route would be easeier when there is snow on it. Didn't see anyone all day and only 1 other car at the trail head. Get up there while you can, they keep talking about closing the road at Dingford.
