ok let's hear 'em. whatjya do? i got my coworker by leaving a message for her to call a "Mr. Lyon" and giving the number for the woodland park zoo. the folks at the zoo figured it out and explained it to her. still bracing myself for retaliation...

i was once skinning up to source lake and found a bunch of boy scouts and their leaders camped right in the middle of the cat track people use to ski back from the alpenthal backcountry, right below the little drop everyone flies down to maintain speed through the flat section that follows it. tents, cooking pits, semi-dormant 12 y/o's strewn everywhere. i told them they had about 20 minutes before the lifts opened. i loved being in the boy scouts; i come from a family of pampered couch potato urbanites and it was the only thing that got me outside as a kid.

i went through a brief phase where i was putting my skins on without taking off my tele skis, but it was more trouble than it was worth. i found it particularly tricky to line the skin up with the edges; i think it would be hard with shaped skins.

actually catbird, not to take the creationist stand (which i think is really silly BTW), but evolution cannot be supported by experimentation because of the geologic amounts of time involved. how would one do a controlled experiment in evolution? eh? i would have thought a scientist type like you would know that. tsk tsk. evolution can of course be supported by observation, but it becomes a question of interpreting the evidense. any philosopher of science will tell you evolution is just a theory. better read up on your carl popper white boy.

now i know a lot of you like emer'gen-c and buy the lemon-lime by the box at trader joe's. like me you've seen the other flavors and been tempted to try them, but at the price you pay you don't want to make a mistake, eh? well a co-worker found them for sale individually at her yoga place so here's my review: lemon-lime (the standard) rasberry tangarine have a great weekend!
