    the queens of spray

Maybe a little "freaky" but sill all woman!.......and i have high hopes i can start out will all on a "better note".........i think it is the good book that says "judge ye not ,lest ye be judged likewise"............i have learned alot from some climbers here..........i look forward to more "knowledge" and who knows it may keep me alive longer on my adventures> Name one freaky thing you've done. Most bible thumpers think doggy style is freaky. You've got to do better than that. What's your number? Single digits, guaranteed. Better than even odds it's < 5. My guess would be 2.
  12. Man, did you get a copyright on that? That's a work of art Hey, what happened to Dan H0witt ahh, there he is ?
  13. We drove down from Portland. The vet in Springfield has a lot of experience. When the vet says she'd take her cat down there instead of a closer place it's usually worth listening.
  14. We went with this guy for hyperthyroidism http://www.felinethyroidclinic.com/. He's been doing it a long time and really knows what he's about. It's a more expensive treatment than other solutions but our cat lasted another 8 years and really improved after the treatment. You will have to deal with a radioactive cat for a week or so after it comes home. The litter will supposedly set of radiation detectors at the garbage transfer stations.
  15. I never posited any "facts" about the lifespan of animals in captivity; nor did I refute your "facts". Have a nice day, Cliffie! Nope, you just got all 3rd grade on dru and called him a name! That's totally legal. Poop-head. Am not. Are too.
  16. I-saddle is great if Wx is stable. I've been in there several times when the pressure is changing and it's blowing 60+ thru the saddle. Although if you're digging a snow cave you would be set. Top of triangle moraine is also good. This is ~9500 where the ridges that separate zigzag, palmer, & white river all come together. There are also usually some lower angle areas on the ridge between zigzag & palmer between 9200-9500.
  17. What about the 'biner the old OMC had in their case that broke on a 212' lead fall on Multnomah Falls? Anyone know this story?
  18. good advice this is 3.3 oz to 6.6 oz per person per day. So the standard answer of 4-8 oz per person per day is still the standard answer. Good to have this in the framework of your experience, wfinley.
  19. Get in line.
  20. Lookout, we've got a live one.
  21. Mike, you should have soft peddled him on your position so you could get some airtime, then set the record straight. That would be fair and balanced. Get them on the ol' bait and switch for once. Although I'm sure the NPS probably wouldn't like the exposure or even the sentiment. "Head climbing ranger calls for end to regulations, promotes anarchy"
  22. you are going to be dead a lot longer than you are going to be alive.....better hope you are right Not in my belief system. Funny how that works.... I deny your reality and subsitute my own.

    skin & ski

Hi Maccy1 There are some fairly mellow trails from Government Camp to Timberline and beyond if you want close. The Alpine trail starts at the top of the little ski area (Summit?) right in govy and the Glade trail starts at the end of the road to the west of the Huckleberry Inn. Skin up, ski down. I've skinned into and around Timberline before and never been hassled. If the snow level has been low and Wx cold the skiing can be pretty nice in some of the glades.
  24. Glen Kessler's Mountain Savvy is great. http://www.mountainsavvy.com/ It looks like all of his courses are in Orygun, tho. Also, if you don't mind driving and spending a little extra dough, Roger Averback in the Wallowas is a fun trip. http://www.wingski.com/aval.html You skin 7 mile back in the Wallowas and travel through real backcountry. You even get to ski a few shots, although Roger gets pissed if you ditch class for shots.
  25. There are some velcro on visors for boating that I've seen. Those wouldn't deflect anything significant, though.
